hello everyone! so i just bought an 88 gxl last week and i already have some issues with it (to be expected)

so here it is..... When im driving it and i hit about 40 mph, i get awful vibration that only gets worse the faster i go. it also vibrates slightly while accelerating from a stop. Now the weird thing is that if im going around 40mph and i let off the gas completely the vibration stops. But if i push the clutch in, it still vibrates.

Im thinking maybe the u joints?? the tranny could also be bad. if i let off the gas at slow speeds and hit it again it makes a clunking noise.

I just want to make sure i know what it is before i spend money on something i dont need.

 

Then get under the car and look.
