Does this price sound right for a engine?

1991 RX-7 13B WITH HARNESS AND BRAIN
ALT,STARTER,FLYWHEEL AND BRACKETS $
1750.00

i got quoted from someone and was wondering if this is overpriced, about right, or a steal?

Thanks for your replys.

Parastie 11-11-04 06:14 PM

If it runs, i'd say about right. If it doesn't, then you're being ripped off.

rx7dpak 11-11-04 06:16 PM

yeah its a fairly new engine, runs good, about 20k miles on it i believe..

Sir Rupert Hobo 11-11-04 06:20 PM

Sir Rupert Hobo 11-11-04 06:35 PM

yes, no as in it's a rip.

i'd sell you mine for WAY less, under 20k miles and etc. but it's an S4.

i got an S5 TII long block in GREAT condition, with all of that plus a tranny INCUDING shipping for $1000.

edit, what are you putting this in? does your car already have a motor in long block form?

Bigretardhead 11-11-04 06:51 PM

yeah, I got my S5 TII motor, in great condition, shipped to my door for like $1100. that price is WAAAAAYYYY too high

rx7dpak 11-11-04 07:03 PM

Haha man... what a rip off. This is going into a Miata hehe. Wish me luck! ill just shop around some more.

Sir Rupert Hobo 11-11-04 08:58 PM

hmmm... i DO have a few parts laying around...:p:

rx7dpak 11-11-04 09:16 PM

No rush, im gonna take my time on finding a good strong rebuilt engine later. As of now ill just prep my car for the bigger engine. Thanks for the posts. :bigthumb:

Shit, I can build you an 89-91 NA engine to spec with all longblock accessories for $1750, with a warranty. For a used engine with any more than a couple thousand miles that is a ripoff. You can buy whole 89-91 NA CARS for that much...

hmm how much hp would that rebuilt engine put out?

RotaryResurrection 11-14-04 11:39 PM

IS this a trick question? If it's a stock rebuild, then stock hp?

LOL thats funny!

fastrotaries 11-15-04 12:33 AM

I would spend the money on a rebuild and you'd defintely know what you have. Unless you totally trus this individual, you don't really know the exact mileage. Personnaly i wouldn't do it.

rx7dpak 11-15-04 02:06 AM

well shoot, if u gonan rebuild it, might as well make it a stronger engine

Kingofl337 11-15-04 07:08 AM
