orange,red,same difference. lol. Just saying I am not much of a fan of the colour. I prefer lighter colours like whites,greens or blues as they are easier on the eyes at night,imo.

The only thing I really don't like about the interiors has gotta be the gauge cluster lighting. I wish they were the Indiglo type lighting. Its the only thing I like better in my dads 240sx is the way the gagues are lit up. And being that I live in Canada I cannot just go get the indiglo gauges from CorkSport or anywhere cause they are all in MPH and I need KMH. Other then that I don't mind the interior much at all. Sometimes I would not mind an interior like an FD in our FC's though, but not a big deal.

Its not just us who love the ineriors, If you recall, in 1986 when Motor Trend first reviewed the car, A, it got import car of the year, B, they absolutly fell in love with the interior, noting some of its Design savy features a la, "Pinball esque flippers for turn signals and cruise control, stationed infront of the symetrical Dials for lights and dimness adjustment" that is just a couple of things they loved about it, I mean show me a car with pinball flippers for controls?!

I think painting some of the interior pieces will make it look even better. I plan to paint the dash surround, stereo surround, shifter surround, and some other pieces in gunmetal when I have time :D

I dont mind the interior except for the carpet on the doors... just think it would look better with diferent material on it.. maybe vinyl or something other then CARPET. All of the pictures of interiors on this post lok kinda nice though compared to mine...

I replaced the steering wheel with a leather/ car fi, and the shift knob with a greddy and pedals, im getting new seats soon, but the enterior looks pretty good, not to old looking to me.

Mike86: I'm not sure if you're saying that you FEEL like it hurts your eyes, or it hurts your night vision, but low level red light will have the least detrimental (spelled right?) effect on your night vision. This is off a flashlight web site and I'll post it because I can't explain things too well.

This might not matter if you've got the lights way up, but I keep mine pretty low. Plus I go to Clemson in SC, so I like the orangish color :D

I love the orange/red lights. Gives you a military operation kind of feel to night driving.

i'm changing my interior. black and white with racing seats i like the layout and the parts of the interior but just want to change the colours.

looks much better than a early 90's civic interior........ Mine may be cracked but it is fine. Afterall, its a sports car, not a luxury car.

I haven't had any girls my age in my car yet, but almost everyone that sees the interior immediatly says "awesome racing seat" or something like that. It distracts them from all the cracked plasitcs and stuff. And about the cupholder, there was something I got for my mustang that had two cupholders and sat inside where the coin-holder thing in the center console went. It worked pretty well.

For me,I find the red/orange not only hard to read because it is dull if turned down and hard for me to make out the numbers,but too bright and distracting if turned all the way up. I prefer whites,greens or blues because they are easy on the eyes and very legible and well lit. I think the worst ones though are the VW/Audi ones that are purplish/blue on black. Those are very hard to read.

Caring about your interior doesn't make you a ricer. Its when you start spending thousands of dollars on bright yellow trim and neon lights under the dash, etc, that you become a ricer.

i think they still look good for as old as they are my car is 17years old and still doesnt have a crak anywhere. what more can you expect that was sweet in the 80's and its still damn good today for the price range you find them in now

I scored my Black Interior of a S5 TII. It's In mint shape. With Black, It to me Is not outdated. It's when the Interior Is Blue or Maroon, coupled with It being worn, It adds a double whammy to It's overall "outdated" appearance.

how tall is the stock shifter? sorry to thread hi-jack, but I think I might have a short shifter, mine looks considerably lower than that.

'interior is lacking'... That thought never crossed my mind. I prefer a clean stock setup. And 17 years in the same seat, it would be tough to switch now. Good or bad we've both formed to each other.

I love the seats they are so comfy. I love the interior of my 90GXl still to this day looks brand new not a tear or hole in the car.( the engine is resting till i have time for a rebuild on her, blew a seal after 180,000). Now for cupholders u can use the center console thingy if u dont keep it filled with other shit. On to the ricing part, I have no intention on screwing up a perfectly flawless interior, now if the interior looks like u left a pittbull in there overnight, then maybe i would rice it up a bit. MY 90GXL will just get an engine rebiuld to stock, and a few other new parts during rebiuld and she will be back to showroom quality, and like some have said will a pretty site as a classic. Now my 79 GS( will be a nice car one day with major engine and mariah body mods) looks like i left a whole litter of pittbulls in it(bought her this way) 88 vert just a few minor things to change and shell look good inside(especially the seats that some moron put in there from a mustang soooooo uncomfy) if anyone doesnt like there stock seats let me know. And the 86 n/a is gutted to the metal and very noisy. So many projects dont know which one to start first. Sorry for blabbing, im just bored
