its pretty easy to find out...but yes all rx-7s have (had unless someone removed the buzzer...dumb idea) redline buzzers.

My automatic GXL doesn't. It's not just a redline buzzer btw, it is a low coolant level buzzer too.

6,500rpm for my s4 thats when it starts to buzz

ColdSeven 09-05-07 10:02 AM

from what i have read it is adjustable....someone correct me if im wrong.

I have never heard of it being adjustable. My redline buzzer buzzes when I hit my 8k redline.

pfsantos 09-05-07 11:33 AM

The buzzer point at redline is adjustable in the sense that there is a screw at the back which will change it...but it's not messed with outside the factory. Icemark or someone mentioned it in a thread a few months ago I think.

the redline and warning buzzers must be separate, cause i get the redline buzzer but not the low coolant one...

rx7-kid 09-06-07 01:56 AM

dose automatic even have redline.

RotaryResurrection 09-06-07 03:28 AM

All FCs except s5 NA manuals redline at 7k (they redline at 8k), and the buzzer should activate somewhere near there (the stock tach is always off a few hundred rpm versus actual). The same buzzer is used for oil, coolant, and redline, but they are obviously activated by different circuits.

The ecu fuel cut/rev limit is 1krpm higher than this and is enforced on all models unless they have been chipped/reprogrammed.

does the buzzer go off if you're just reving it in neutral?

Yes, and you can hit the fuel cut-off too
