what do you mean by options? if your asking what models came with what it can be found in the 2nd gen faq. I am not the search police i am just sending you there cause i dont remember every model offhand. There is also the option of swapping a miatas kaaz diff into the fc egg, which is more complicated. AS for interchangeablilty, all n/a diffs can swap but you cannot put a Tii diff in a N/A car.
Thats all I know.

Well you CAN, you just need a custom driveshaft. Or to swap out the tranny at the same time.

you have several options:
89-91 did not come with diff unless it was a GTU or a TII and in that case, you would have to change the rear end, axles and all,
or you can put the diff from and S4 like assman said. they bolt up, no need to change axles or driveshafts. a little time consuming but worth it.

really? a GTU? i thought it was only the GTUs and the TII were the only S5 with lsd.

You are right. The only S5 (89-91) RX-7s to come with a LSD in North America was the GTUs, and the Turbo.

Not the GTU. Of the GTU models only the 88 GTU came with one.

No 89-90 GXL models came with a LSD.

As covered in the FAQ for FC sticky thread as well as the options and Standard features sticky thread at the top of the 2nd gen section:

Only the following FCs had a LSD from the factory:
86-88 GXL
87-91 T2
88 GTU
89-90 GTUs (however not the 89-90 GTU)
It is also rumored that a few rare 91 coupes with both the A (upgraded the interior trim, added a power sunroof, tilt steering wheel, cruise control, and 4 piston front disc brakes and vented single piston rear brakes) and the B package (leather seating, a CD player, and rear cargo cover) came with a LSD, but you should note that Mazda denies that any FC other than the T2 came with a LSD in 91). You can also tell by looking at the differential as there will be a LSD tag on S4 cars with a LSD.
as far as Viscous vs clutch type, the 86-88 models with a LSD came with a clutch type, and the 89-91 models that came with a LSD used a Viscous type.

Also be aware that the Turbo differentials use a 8 inch differential that is not interchangeable with the non Turbo's 7 inch differentials without changing drive shafts, and half shafts.
