could i run a 12.2

Is it possible for my car to run a 12.2 @ 15 psi. I found a piece of paper where i had written stuff about the car when i bought it and that's what he told me it ran.

riptyde 05-11-03 09:19 PM

Take it to the track and find out.

Scott 89t2 05-11-03 09:27 PM

maybe once. 2nd time it would blow up

BlackRx7 05-11-03 09:31 PM

Only if your car was tunned for the most hp, and you use some drag radials or slicks....IMO I've learned the heard way twice I ran a 13.5 at 6psi, next pass at 10 psi bye bye rear apex seals, get it on a dyno with a wideband and tune that mutha to 11:1 just to be safe, 12:1 is optiumum, but it hard to get it exactly right and you don't wanna blow your engine on the dyno....

Mark'sMazda 05-11-03 09:32 PM

what kind of turbo? do you have a map? How big is the FMIC?

I doubt 12.2, high 12's sound more like it.

dr0x 05-11-03 09:36 PM

I still cant believe you are running a to4 w/ an safc. What to4 is it exactly?

RX7withNitrous 05-11-03 09:40 PM

haha don't even have the s-afc on it yet i drive the shit out of it too. My car is bulletproof..........Till i post in two weeks damn the motor popped.

RX7withNitrous 05-11-03 09:41 PM

i think it's a Garret To4e 60 trim

dr0x 05-11-03 09:42 PM

Do you even know you are running a to4 for sure and the owner wasnt lying out of his ass? Because motors will pop with an fcd and a walbro using the stock turbo, much less a to4 at 1 bar.

RX7withNitrous 05-11-03 09:43 PM

it's a huge turbo that says Garret with a 3 inch inlet i doubt it's the stock turbo

Rx7Nub 05-11-03 10:17 PM

Could it be a hybrid... ? with a big cold side?

darkwaveboi 05-11-03 10:20 PM

are you running stock injectors at 15psi....? or are the 850's in...?

but the RX7withNitrous wastegate can control boost (hold at low boost) better than stock wastegate, it isn't the stock turbo's fault, it's the stock wastegate and the wastegate's style of venting.

Thanks for your incoherent post?

lol! Everytime I see rx7withnitrous post I wonder how the engine is still alive. A freaking to4 on the stock ecu and some slightly upgraded secondaries. It defies everything I'v ever known. Time is counting down my friend, I suggest you invest in the next microtech group buy and not go boosting 1 bar all over the place.

TonyTurboII 05-12-03 03:40 AM

God no. We dont need any idiocies in the Microtech section.

Ryde _Or_Die 05-12-03 08:36 AM

I'm just wondering...do you have extra money lying around for a rebuild? Or do you really think its going to last? Seems kind of pointless to waste an engine even if you do have the money

Word!

Everytime I see it, I can't help wondering why I have so much shit in my car, trying to stop my engine from grenading, when obviously you don't need it ;).

Crank that baby up to 15psi, and make me feel better for having invested a lot of money...

whoops i didn't see it said 1 BAR
read too fast.

vosko 05-12-03 12:13 PM

the stock ecu is fine as long as you keep boost under 10psi

on a stock turbo....

he's running full t04 on stock ecu and injectors... his afc and 850's arn't even in yet.

there is no way. he must have ecu or injector mods he just doens't know about. since he bought it as is.

Is it possible for my car to run a 12.2
Absolutely.

If it were being pulled down the track by an 11 second car.

 :rlaugh:

dr0x 05-12-03 02:27 PM

The previous owner must have had the ecu remapped or something.

ForsakenRX7 05-12-03 04:07 PM

Theres no way. that car HAS to have upgraded secondarys. And for it to have not popped by now on stock injectors is amazing. It defies laws of rotary.

Ya i think it has something upgraded. He told me he ran that at 15psi and it had like 360hp. I was like there is no way it has stock injectors and ecu but it just keeps lasting. Someone come over and take a look at it and go for a ride.
