cosmo front clip on ebay (13bre)

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1875920140

does anyone know what all has to be done for a 13bre swap? all i want is the block, turbos, and manifolds and sensors. i would probably end up getting a standalone for engine management, but can a stock turboII ECU handle a 13bre? i always thought it was just a 13bt with bigger ports, higher compression, 2 turbos, and better manifolds...

my only real concern is where the motor mounts are. can i use turboII 13bt motor mounts?

thanks

I wonder if they'd sell the whole car? I'd love a Cosmo...

RiceRocket 12-29-02 07:33 AM

i dunno about that cosmo, but that guy does have some interesting merchchandise for sale

RiceRocket 12-29-02 07:39 AM

o, adn either way. be careful. his feedback is kind of low for my tastes

jacobcartmill 12-29-02 03:07 PM

i wasnt gonna buy it, just showing you all. does anyone know if the motor mounts will bolt up in the same place as a 13BT?

who knows how many miles are on it. Looks like huge miles.

175 psi compression.... seems high. Thought most rotaries made 120 psi in PERFECT condition...

dr0x 12-29-02 07:09 PM

I thought just tii motors were 120psi.

SlayerwithaFC3S 12-29-02 07:40 PM

my friends would blow nut if they saw that engine in my car but so would i

haha, buy it and complain it doesn't have 175 psi, and get your money back
("This engine includes a start and run warrany, as well as having a minumum of 175 PSI Compression")

jacobcartmill 12-30-02 03:34 AM

thats 175 total, not each rotor.

otherwise they'd be crazy fucks.

vaughnc 12-30-02 01:25 PM

tempting, but I'd rather pay the same price and buy from a known reputable dealer.

the compression isnt higher. The ports are bigger. The turbo's are not as good as FD twins. Plus, without them running in sequetial mode, they will produce about as much as a small single. Its not a drop in and go swap though, still requries a bit of work.

Are they actually bigger, or do they just look bigger because they come out of the block at at angle?

They're a bit smaller, as the Cosmo's 13B was tuned for more torque.

Peak power should be they same whether running parallel of sequential, but sequential improves torque down low.
