The only people who would give a shit, wouldn't believe it was a GTUs...

You know, I came on here for some simple information. My buddy got the car when it was a year old, and it had the GTUs stickers on it when he got it. He worked at Mazda for years and no one flamed him about the car. As far as he knew, it was the real deal, which is what he told me. He didn't charge me more because of that. He GAVE me the car. I came hear to verify the info, and you guys (not all of you) give me and my freind grief over a couple of stickers.
THat is friggin SAD on your part. I expected more maturity on your part. Maybe the original owner of the car liked the looks of the stickers or something, I don't know. My buddy was the 2nd owner of the car, and I am the 3rd. My son and I come here to learn more about RX7's, not to get toasted in a flame war. SHAME on you. Later, Bill |
you haven't been on many internet message boards have you
when everyone shows that you're wrong, just admit it and let it go. then most people will get over it |

My vert has a TURBO, 17" wheels..blah blah blah....
GTUss Stickers on the way. If you want to leave them on that's cool. But the fact is it would be eronious to go around telling people it is a GTUs Vert when they were strictly a s5 model and as stated earlier would be completely pointless in vert form....... |

Right now your only real mistake is believing you buddy in the face of overwhelming information that he was wrong. You apparenly kind of suspected this or you would not have posted this thread after failing to verify it yourself.
I know he did GIVE you the car, but that does not make him correct, only generous. You haven't really been flamed, you have been ribbed in a good-natured way. And you got correct information. This is very good deal, considering the price... |

Later, Bill look, we told you there is no such thing as a GTUs Vert, THEY DONT EXIST we told you the facts and your rejected it time for you to burn, we get bored with new people who ask questions and tell us that we're wrong Just because your buddy worked for mazda doesnt mean he knows anything about RX7's, incase you havent noticed, most mazda dealerships you take one to will charge you up the ass for basic maintenence and treat you like the beaten stepchild you dont like what you hear? then leave. |
I appologize for flying off the handle. I never said I did not believe you. I did say I would leave the car the way it is until I found more proof. I did beleive my freind and when I asked him about it, he said that he could be wrong. As people we make mistakes.
My continued posts in this thread were not to further try to persuade that I thought you were wrong, just listing what options were on the car. When I started this thread, I did NOT know that the GTUs came out in 89. Otherwise I would not have started the thread. As far as your comments about my role as a father, I tend to be very protective of him. When I see people posting things about my freinds smoking crack and saying that if I gave a Sh**, I would believe it would not be a GTUs,.... Well That is what I was refering to as maturity. Some people just need to think about who is reading these forums. I flew off the handle, for that reason. I stand by that. Please don't presume as to how I raise my son. It was him I was thinking about the info that he is getting, and smoking crack is not what I had in mind. My friend doesn't have to fight his own battles. I saw the responses here and asked him and he said he could be wrong. That was good enough for me. I am very forgiving and ask forgiveness. But I wish you would just think about the "new guy" and the young guys who are trying to learn something . Just keep it positive. Later, Bill |
Hey it's cool man... On the bright side, you have a Vert with LSD and hey it's still an RX-7... :bigthumb:

it's all good
