Conversion n/a to t2
 

If I buy a ecu from a turbo 2 and install and tune it to a non turbo would it be compatible ?????

The stock ECU is not tunable, so no...

why would you want to do that?

I seem to recall that the TII ecu from the same series will run an NA (might be a couple pins that need swapped on the plug, iirc)m and the AFM has to match the ECU as well, but it's not tuneable, and won't run it particularly well. I'm guessing the OP needs an ECU and has access to a TII ecu. Search and post in the 2nd gen classified forum , people convert to TII, no one ever converts to NA, so there are bound to be unwanted ones out there - like this https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generati...parts-1102432/ (that's an S5, and the OP hasn't stated which series his car is, so he may need to look for an S4 ecu). They're almost a throw-away item.

I want to be able to run a turbo eventually I have a stock naturally aspirated Rx 7 I'm about to just Bridgeport it and call it a day to be honest I don't want to spend 1500 on a ecu that why I figured would buying a t2 ecu do the same job

If you want a T2, buy a T2. If you don't want to spend $1500 on an ecu, you don't want to spend what you need to, to convert an N/A to turbo. Just sayin'....

And even if you bridgeport it you'll still need the $1500 ecu, or almost 600+ for an intake and carb setup, plus someone to tune it

If I Bridgeport it I wouldn't need a carb setup. I can run it with the fuel injectors I mean I don't mine dropping cash on what. That's not the point I was trying to get at. I'm mean if I I need a ecu and can get it for 2-4 hundred And still be able to do what I needed to do for the conversion I am good. Save money cause it's not just a computer that's costly.

i saw a na to t2 swap thread were the guy ran the na ecu since his turbo ecu was bad, he drove i like that for a week, saying it ran rich. maybe the opposite would lean it out and pop your motor?

You'd be hard pressed to blow an N /A motor with lean mixtures.
Feed an n/a with less fuel than it wants, and it gets fussy and just makes less power. Feed it too much timing and it does the same. Pretty hard to blow a non-turbo.

No. Do not bridgeport the car.

Will it run on the stock ECU? Yes. Will it run well? No.

Plus you'll need to change the intake manifold anyway to take advantage of that port, and with the huge port are of the 6 port block you'll be making peak power somewhere around 9,000 RPM.

It will be loud.
