Constant annoying clicking sound coming from passenger door locking mechanism

Ok, well I've made it a couple years without needing to posts any questions given that there is a massive amount of information to search through for almost any problem ive ran into so far, but this issue is either unique or I have no idea what keywords i should be searching for. So my passenger door recently(at least i noticed it recently) started making a clicking sound coming from the locking mechanism as if the door was randomly automatically locking itself. The door doesnt actually lock it just sound as if it were. Also the door locking switch itself doesnt seems to react (move/make any noise) each time this happens. It just makes this noise every 15 minutes or so, which is starting to drive me nuts. I did take appart the the door and inspected all of the connections/electronics and they looked great, so for me, there is nothing easily noticable. I do want to note that the factory alarm system does not function so im wondering if there is a corelation between the two issues. Any insight would be appreciate.

BTW its a 1990 Turbo

Thanks!

Does your car have electric locks? If so, maybe the soleniod is becoming weak or a dirty connector or bad ground. Did you check the bottom of the door for loose parts?
