compression test hot/cold
hey i just did a compression test on my car.
i live in minnesota and its starting to get chilly here, around 45 degrees i think. last time i drove the car was yesterday afternoon around 4:30pm. its 10:30am now today. i just did a compression test, the motor was cold obviously from the weather AND sitting all night. i was just wondering would that cause the compression test to read higher than normal? and also whats the ideal conditions to get a proper reading for compression. |
cold will raise compression a little test it warm with the throttle wide open

you want the motor close to operating temperatures for the compression test. also be sure you are holding the throttle all the way open while turning it over.
