Code #12?

Ok, yesterday I yanked the codes off fo my ECU with a paperclip and my brother "please, please don't electrocute me....can we please just work on my talon" Anyway I got one code. A long bar and two short ones than the two second gap than the repeated one. Ok I checked and it has to do with my TPS. Does it simply mean I need to warm the car up, shut it off, plug an ohm meter into the TPS plug, and fool with the little screw on top of the throttle body to get the ohm meter to read 1? I am just wondering since I will probably do it this weekend. Moreover, I am one of those guys that needs to do it right the first time . Thanks a lot guys

yeah man...thats the procedure you wanna do...do you have a T2? what year? if its 89-91 you might wanna bust the nut loose on the end of the TPS screw. (the 86-88 only have a screw with no nut). cause if you warm up the car the nut will not budge for adjustment due to heat. but if you just have an 86-88...warm up the car, and then shut it off. pop the hood and take the IC off (provided its a T2). and then test the readings, and adjust the screw as necessary. i think you might need the key turned to the on position (idiod light cluster light) to get a reading. good luck man...

this is a tutorial for the 86-88's courtesy of RETed

tIIforever: Ya sounds like the power steering controller.. It may have a bad connection on/to the speed sensor.
