clutch problems

sometimes wen i drive i cant put the gears in. im pressing the clutch and i cant shift but then again sometimes it works. its scary to drive my car and wen it does happen i gotta stop and just wait it out and itll go back. it used to happen wen i use the clutch a lot ( traffic ) but then now it happens even wen i just start the car and its not warmed up. i dont kno but sometimes i hear this bang sound from the engine area. can anyone help? i suck at this:wallbash:

check your transmission fluid level for starts

does your clutch pedal ever stay stuck to the floor after you let off?

get someone who knows manual trans to checkout how your car is driving when its cold

Sounds like the clutch isn't fully engaging. Mine did this once, when the master cylinder failed. Are you leaking any fluid?

fcChrisk 12-06-07 06:41 PM

i am leaking fluid but its only the power steering fluid

try replacing the clutch fluid with fresher fluid. maybe that might help

sounds like the master cylinder is failing. check both master and slave for leaks.

alright thanks. im gonna check all that. but besides that does anyone know of how much like a full check up would be? like price?
