clutch problem

clutch problem

ok i just bought my 91 rx a couple of weeks ago the other night i noticed the clutch starting to slip but i couldnt affourd not to stop driving it in this condition welll as one would think something broke.. the clutch will not fully disengage when it is pressed down thus not allowing my to put in gear after starting... i was able to move out of the side of the road my turning the car off putting it in gear and choking it until it had enough speed to take off... on problem with this was that i smoked the **** out of my clutch and now my car is on the side of the road outside of an apartment coplex sad and all alone....


what could be wrong that i could possibly fix

Sounds like the clutch hyraulic system isn't working properly. Is the clutch master cylinder low on fluid? Do you see a leak anywhere? Even if it's full, there may be an internal leak, allowing fliud to puch past the piston(s). I'd replace the clutch master and slave cylinders, as well as the flexible hose connecting those two parts. The cost of all three pieces will be about $100. Very easy to change everything.

Also for the record you or anyone else would want to check the rod behind the pedal and make sure it's adjusted correctly.
