Clockwise or counter clockwise
 

Just for the fun of it, answer this question quickly without thinking.

1st Question:

As you're facing the front of your Rex with the engine running, is the rotor turning clockwise or counter clockwise.


2nd Question:

After doing the ATF trick, would it be better to manualy turn the rotor clockwise or counter clockwise.


You're on the honor system. Must answer in 10 seconds or less or not fair.:D

ClockWise if your facing the front of the car, I'd imagine both clockwise and counter clock to get the atf all over the apex seals

If the engine is turning clockwise, then why are the "leading" spark plugs the bottom ones and the "trailing" spark plugs the top ones.

Wouldn't that lead you to believe the rotors are turning counter clockwise?

However, the fan turns clockwise.

The leading fires first, and the trailing fires second.

Trailing sparks to insure burning of fuel, right?

So, the fuel should be shoving up, since it was first sparked from below, right?

So, the right side of the rotor (as looking from the front) is moving up, right?

So, the rotor is turning counter clockwise, right?

true... at least that was I always assumed

That's negative. The rotor passes the trailing plug first, even though it fires second.

3 sparks. Start off with the centrifical force from the starter.

One spark JUST after the surface passes the sparkplug, then the trailling above, but THEN another from the Leading.

It's like a big step forward, a small step back, then a big step forward. The little step doesn't have enough force to stop the rotors movement (the T's spark plug "hole" is the size of a pencil eraser, as opposed to the L's bottle-cap sized hole) so all it does is burn.

What would make it fire counter-clockwise?

Fuel coming from the exhaust, the leading and trailing coils flip-flopped, and a starter that spins the other way.

So I was right?

Anyone every yank the trailing off and just see if that lil back step did any good or no good. MAn, its late and im dumb

The car will run with only leading, or only trailing on.. Run fairly decent, too...or, at least, mine did. You'll lose a bit of power, gas mileage, and emissions, tho. The extra sparks just help to clean it up and squeeze a tad more power out..

Doesn't the R26B have 3 plugs per rotor?

Hehe run it backwards. That could work I guess. Just put it in a Honda since their engines rotate the wrong way anyways. Peripheral intake ports with side exhaust ports. I wonder what the intake and exhaust would look like?

Sure, the engine will merrily run "backwards" if you get the fuel delivery and ignition timing "right".

Yes, the R26B runs a "far trailing" which is the 3rd spark plug in the rotor housing.&nbsp This is just to gain a few percentage more power out of the engine.

Are you able to fully turn the 13b counter clockwise? My friend has a stuck olr motor and not sure if were able to turn it fully clockwise. It does stick if we try to turn it counter. So were just using the mmo trick first and slowly rock it slightly left and right
