Follow destructions - they are there for a reason. Mix correctly or it'll kick to fast. If you put it on too thick you can use a cheese grater to knock down some of the high spots before it completely kicks off

One of these days I'm going to have to create a tutorial on how to easily make molds so people can make whatever they need. Yes out of plastic! It's actually pretty easy.

Id read that. If there was enough interest and people had the same speakers I'd pull a mold from my panels but there isn't so I continue to turn what should be plugs into the final piece. Oh well.

Thanks guys. I just sprayed it this color cause I have a lot of this paint laying around but I might very well paint it black. Or paint the shifter surround and some other pieces this new grey color.

I just used a 1/2" piece of MDF, and bondo-glassed it in place and filled the cigarette lighter space.

both look great.

Not bad at all, looks sick as hell. I was planning something similiar, this thread definitely helped.

First, let me say I applaud your effort and appreciate the learning experience you went through.
That said, I don't like the final result.

From an aesthetic standpoint- and this was certainly nothing but an exercise in aesthetics since there are a lot simpler ways of just mounting gauges- you've removed the area of the dash with the most visual interest and replaced it with a flat, featureless blank.
The dash, which is pretty large to begin with, used to be interrupted by all the vents and controls in the center panel but now it's visually larger and more bulbous, generally devoid of detail to distract the eye and conceal the visual mass of the dash.
The sharp edges of the vents and controls also contrasted with the rounded edges of the dash in general...now it looks kinda fat and soft.

Just an opinion.

clokker, thanks for your input though I personally don't see the beauty in the stock radio and heating controls. In the next week or so I'll be adding a Greddy Boost Controller and NGK A/Fx air fuel ration monitor to the center plate. Also there might be a, aftermarket CD player or Palm pilot being mounted in the lower section of the panel. I think the added components will bring back some action to the center panel and make it a bit less boring.
