CEL (code 12) Help please...

ok well i just got my 7, and the CEL comes on when i start the car, it goes off when i press the gas down, then come back when i let it off.

I did a check of the codes (wire in plug, - batt terminal)

And got code 12

Code 12 is:

12 Throttle sensor (full range)

What exactly does this mean lol? Besides a short, any ideas on what it could be? How would i go about finding the short, broken wire?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

short or repacing the whole unit, try the troubleshooting in the fsm, which i dont have a link to, but someone responding to this thread soon, probably will.

I was able to fix mine:
Spray contact cleaner in between the sleeve & plunger.
Work it in.
Blow it out.
Repeat.

Being you just purchased the car, this might be an old code.To be sure, disconnect the neg terminal on the battery for about 1 minute, and some say to depress break pedal a couple of times to get the residual juice out, then reconnect the bat, and go driving. If it reappears, then attend to it.
