Cat?
Is the cat welded to the turbo or the exhaust pipe on an 88 turbo 2? I was wondering because mine is clogged and I need to take it off and get it fix ASAP.

I'm assuming you're talking about the pre-cat...
It's bolted on. You have two options: 1) Find a replacement at a junkyard 2) Buy a downpipe I'd go with option two. The pre-cat is just there for cold start emissions, and they OFTEN clog up, making them a hazard to your rotary's health. You'll still pass the sniffer with it gone. A downpipe will help you see a little bit more PSI on your boost gauge too. ;) If you were talking about the main cat, it's bolted on too, behind the precat. Steve |
it's the thign bolted to the turbo I don't know which one that is

go with a Hi flow cat, and get rid of that pre-cat......they're crap. DP all the way. DO you need emissions where you live? if not get rid of them.
