Wiper Switch Relay?

Can the wiper switch relay(s) be purchased at a local radioshack? I know about the other online sources. Has anyone and do you remember parts numbers? Thanks

JonEQuest did this and his work like new...I don't know the part # but it seems to be a common relay that they should have in stock...The only problem is the relay won't hook up the same so you would have to run wires to the respective places and also the relay is a little big that the stock one so it will stick out of the wiper box...It will fit back in its orignal spot on the surround and doen't interfere with anything else!!

It is not a common relay, as it is a PC Mount SPST-NO/NC combo relay with 12VDC coil. Radioshack does not carry that relay at all.

You can get them from digikey, or my webstore/website (under products) online (but note, I do not charge a min order charge like digikey does and I stock the heavy duty 8 amp sealed versions, instead of the 5 amp versions).

Here are the part numbers:

The top relay (G6C-2117P-FD-TM)
The middle relay (G8S-117P--FD-04)
The bottom relay (G6C-2117-P-FD-TM)

And and a bit of a write up

Reading over what people describe as the problem, I'm not sure it's the relay. I've checked the relay and it functions as it's suppose to. My problem is my wipers don't return. As I press the mist switch the wipers will only go as long as I hold it. Usually they do a complete cycle and return to the bottom. The same problem accurs when I turn the wipers to level one or high and just turn them off, they will remain half way or where ever they were last.

Is there a solution to this problem or is it in fact the relay still?

No, that does not sound like the relay, but more a problem with cold solder joints in the switch or worn out contacts in the switch.

If it is the relay, you loose high and intermitent speeds.

I have rebuilt switches on my site also available or can rebuild your for you for cheap.
