car wont start

i have an 86 turbo rx7 when i turn the key to the acc and on posions everytyhing lights up and is working fin but when i try to start the car it just make a click then everything dies and nothing will work, if i just touch the negitive terminal of the battery and try to move it (it is tight so it dosent move) the car will work in the acc and on posions again. the dealer said it was the ignision switch but that works fine and i already traced the ground wire and cleaned the end and the surface its attached to on the motor and i ran an extra body ground, i also tryed a new battery. i can jump start the car by pushing it and and dumping the clutch then it will run fine. has something like this happened to anyone else and if so how would i fix it? im out of ideas other then completly rewiring the hole thing.:wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:

It sounds like the terminals to the battery are loose or are you truing to jump it?

Either way make sure you have a good solid connection (tighten up them nuts real good). If that doesnt work you need to clean the terminals and tighten em up real good again.

Protip: As you approach the tightest you can, turn the terminals a bit so they can achieve a better connection.

Check under the car that all the cables to the starter are still connected

Starter

Have you tried to hot wiring the starter to make sure it is good ?

You could alway bypass the start on the ignition and hook a button up for the starter. Here is a thread with some digram in it. https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/push-buttom-start-766294/

I had the same problem with my S5 N/A when I first got it. Ended up being a crappy negative terminal. The place I got it from claimed it was for "unflooding the carb easily..."

I hate places that don't know what their doing...

Good to see you got yours fixed.
