Car starts going jerking around 5k RPMS in 2ndgear
Is it this?
The dreaded 3800 RPM hesitation is cause 90% of the time by poor ground connections between the engine, the battery, and the car. Clean or replace all the under hood ground connections. On 86 model year cars , replacing/regrounding the pressure sensor's ground wire has helped (do not re-ground a 87 or later model year). If there is still a problem after that, look at cleaning the fuel injectors and (on a N/A) that your 5th/6th ports are operating correctly. It only happens in 2nd gear. So i dont think its this. It starts going back and It only happens sometimes as well. Any idea what this might be? |
no it's not that.
however, regrounding the car is definitely worth a try. If it's just a little jerk, could be a fuel related problem in which case regrounding might help. It would also help to know what kind of car we're talkin about :) |
Why would I not want to reground a 87 or later fc? Are there draw backs?

oh sorry lol its a 88 N/A. I just drove it around a few and i guess it has stoped. ( i just got the car up and running less then a week ago and its my first RX7. I noticed it started happening on the same road around the same area. ( it happened twice) i guess its just the road that was doing it since i didnt have the problem anywhere else. Although regrounding does sound like a good idea to prevent future problems.
