WTF is that? it rusted off from the rear brakes when i tryed to turn it, then it what was left of it got crushed off when i tryed to remove it with a vice grip. what the hell is it? and how do i get it off? I thougt it might be a 2nd bleeder screw or something

the last pic is the peice that broke off. The shiny silver part in pics 1 and 2 are the remains of this thing that is still stuck in the caliper

Rear brakes have to bleed screws/valves. Looks like one of them is a bit destroyed...

yep, looks like a bleeder screw to me...you plan on replacing the caliper?

Calipers will run ~$30rebuilt at a autoparts store. The bleeder valves themselves could probably be sourced for a couple bucks-- if you can get the old one out.

but if its not leaking...*meh*

if it's not leaking WHEN? when you slam on the brakes to avoid being run over by the 18-wheeler?LOL...If ya can't get it out properly, just get another caliper...You gotta figure, if the bleeder's all rusted to shit, what's the rest of the caliper (the inside surfaces) look like... Play it safe...

shit i had to bleed both lines to get my brakes from going to the floor... i also totally removed my calipers so that might be why... i would replace it asap cant cost much for that anyway
