Body work....

I just got this car for $500! I'm not sure if I want to fix the body work myself or not.

I've never done body work before but I think I could do it, I just don't know how well. I've got a driver's side fender and a hood off my parts bitch so I don't have to worry about fixing them. The car hit a pole...not going very fast....which you can see on the front bumper, it hit the license plate. It must have been the bumper pushing the fender out that caused the gap by the headlight.

So now the question beckons; have a body shop do it or be brave and fix it myself? How much should I be willing to pay to have it fixed? Thanks in advance.

just sell it to me!

ah you can fix that shit, just make sure everything is lined up.....door to car, fender to door and nose to fender, its a bitch, but it will look 10 times better in the end

If you dont want to do the bodywork, sell it!

No way I would drive that without fixing at least some of that stuff

You will prob want to take it to a bodyshop to at least fix the dents. It will prob run you less than $500 for dent straightening, if thats all it needs.

$500 seems like a really good deal though!

Yea it was a hell of a deal. Other than an exhaust leak, 3800 hesitation, and an overflow problem she runs great. The clutch are gearbox are both nice and tight, and oh baby the power's all there! Thats even without my 6 ports working. The thing that really impressed me about this car is that the interior is SUPER CLEAN, still has the factory radio untouched, and there's not 1 chip or scratch in any of the glass. I think though that I'm going to let the body work wait till next month. For now I want to take all the intake off my parts bitch and do some port matching, as well as the TB mod, and 5 lug conversion. I'd also like to replace the bushings...and other little misc things. There's no way in hell I'm going to sell this girl, I absolutely LOVE 7's :D

BTW, can anybody tell me which model it is? I was thinking it was probably the base, but I'm not sure. Its an 87, 4 lug, No AC, No PS, No ABS, No Power, No 2+2 or compartments, and its got a shiney aluminum spare.

What sort of overflow problem?

Well when I turn the car off after its hot some water dribbles out, and once in a while the low coolant buzzer goes off. I check the water every time I drive it and the radiator is full. I watch the temp gauge closely and it doesn't go any higher than middle so its not overheating. The first thing I did before I bought the car was watch the water in the radiator for bubbles and there was none so I know the block is solid, and I checked for water in the oil. I think there's probably a real tiny hole somewhere in the tubing or there's a crack in the overflow tank. Any thoughts?

P.S. The overflow tank is always full :(
