Beyond the basic rebuild

So after a stuck thermostat and a blown coolant seal, I have decided to rebuild my motor myself. I am ordering Atkin's "master" rebuild for the S4 13B and the DVD. Besides that kit, petroleum jelly, assembly lube, and the proper tools. What else should I expect to have to buy?

Also, what should I expect to break or have to replace that's not included in the kit? This is all assuming my rotors, housings, and irons are all in reusable condition.

Thanks in advance,
Alex

Well I don't have an answer to your question, I will say that I am also from Evansville and wish you luck on the rebuild.

The only thing I can think of at the moment is new hoses. You can get a vac hose kit at autozone that has most of the vac hoses you will need. Definately get all new coolant hoses, and you might as well get new fuel injection hoses while you're at it. Do it right the first time.
Also, new plugs (duh) and new wires if they are old.

hmmmm, lets see.
you should inspect your wire harness, chances are its hard as a rock. Inspect the charge cables. they could be corroded and stiff. No use going through an engine build just to have it blow again due to faulty wires.
You should replace the bearings in the stationary gears, check the throw out bearing on your tranny, have your injectors cleaned, check the water pump and housing, especailly if you use tap water for your radiator, the list goes on...
