beautiful rims... will these fit

I have a 1986 rx7, fc, what ever you will. ( http://www.themodshop.com )

My rims will be the last modification to my project and was wondering will these rims fit comfortably without modification.

7.5" wide, +45 offset?
I don't think so. :(
You'll need a small spacer to clear inside.

With all that bodywork you should have pulled the fenders. Then you could fit some wheels with some low offsets that'll look decent. Look for some +10 or +20 offsets. Don't go for the lame-o sunken in wheel look.

I guess performance has nothing to do with what rims /offset to go with, and all you care about is looks?

Jeesh, no kidding

rhscare 07-29-05 05:45 AM

first off 18's look kind of ridiculous on the FC, but everyone has their own taste. That aside, +45 just isnt going to happen, unless you run a quite unsafe sized spacer.

SidewaysFC 07-29-05 06:59 AM

Atleast the website interface is nice?

but its only 7.5 inches wide - he will require some type of spacer, but nothing too extreme.

well he would probably need about a 1/2" spacer... which is pretty extreme because he would have to replace all the studs, as there is not sufficent lug length for a 1/2" spacer and then to tighten down the lug nuts at least 7 turns.

Of course I just don;t get the idea of using a wheel and using spacers... no wheel looks that cool that you can't use either the correct size/offset or a different wheel.

That same wheel is also available with a 35 mm offset. http://www.enkei.com/Performance%20specs/evo5.html

So then what is my 4 lug RX7 called?

JamesBong 07-29-05 10:57 AM

If you look at the pictures on his site, he is trying to trick out an NA base with 4-lug single pot. Personally, I think huge rims with a giant air gap around low-preformance brakes looks excedingly lame. like somone trying to compensate for something by putting 22's on an SUV. But I shouldn't criticize before I know the facts. So, chuck, Are you going to do any performance upgrades on this FC? (I'd recommend going 5-lug to start.) Or, is it going to be a show car?

redFC3Sboy 07-29-05 11:21 AM

wat ru sayin. u dont like 22" rims on a suv. just because u probably cant afford one. personally i like them. main reason is b/c my family has a 02' suburban on 22" chrome rims.

Gloss Black Motegi Racing Touge 18x9"
The wheels have a +12mm offset with a huge 3" lip! Glossy black center and with a machine polished and clear coated lip is sure to turn heads!

i think these rims are so far.....the best looking for its price.....

kontakt 07-29-05 04:21 PM

what exactly makes a rim better or worse for drifting? I imagine weight comes into play like anywhere else, but...

Nice web site. This isn't the first body shop I've seen do stupid mechanical stuff. Anyone else look at the completely F'd up Nissan pickup rear suspension?

Look at the pinion angle. The way the 4 link is designed it rotates the pinion up as the suspension is compressed which is bass-ackwards.

http://www.themodshop.org/images/ima...%20162_JPG.jpg

And is this toy powered by compressed air?
