beautiful rims... will these fit
I have a 1986 rx7, fc, what ever you will. ( http://www.themodshop.com )
My rims will be the last modification to my project and was wondering will these rims fit comfortably without modification. http://www.whalentire.com/wheeldetai...399-875-0145HS ^^^^<<---thats the link |
actuallly pictures of my car are located at this website http://www.themodshop.org

7.5" wide, +45 offset?
I don't think so. :( You'll need a small spacer to clear inside. -Ted |
With all that bodywork you should have pulled the fenders. Then you could fit some wheels with some low offsets that'll look decent. Look for some +10 or +20 offsets. Don't go for the lame-o sunken in wheel look.

Jeesh, no kidding
|
first off 18's look kind of ridiculous on the FC, but everyone has their own taste. That aside, +45 just isnt going to happen, unless you run a quite unsafe sized spacer.
|
Atleast the website interface is nice?

Of course I just don;t get the idea of using a wheel and using spacers... no wheel looks that cool that you can't use either the correct size/offset or a different wheel. |
That same wheel is also available with a 35 mm offset. http://www.enkei.com/Performance%20specs/evo5.html

what will a spacer do?

Jim so then with this offset the rims will fit? |

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/17-MO...90162301QQrdZ1 would either one of these rims fit, comfortably |
Well FC's are 5 lug not 4....

If you look at the pictures on his site, he is trying to trick out an NA base with 4-lug single pot. Personally, I think huge rims with a giant air gap around low-preformance brakes looks excedingly lame. like somone trying to compensate for something by putting 22's on an SUV. But I shouldn't criticize before I know the facts. So, chuck, Are you going to do any performance upgrades on this FC? (I'd recommend going 5-lug to start.) Or, is it going to be a show car?
|
wat ru sayin. u dont like 22" rims on a suv. just because u probably cant afford one. personally i like them. main reason is b/c my family has a 02' suburban on 22" chrome rims.

Glossy black center and with a machine polished and clear coated lip is sure to turn heads! i think these rims are so far.....the best looking for its price..... |
what exactly makes a rim better or worse for drifting? I imagine weight comes into play like anywhere else, but...

Nice web site. This isn't the first body shop I've seen do stupid mechanical stuff. Anyone else look at the completely F'd up Nissan pickup rear suspension?
Look at the pinion angle. The way the 4 link is designed it rotates the pinion up as the suspension is compressed which is bass-ackwards. http://www.themodshop.org/images/ima...%20162_JPG.jpg And is this toy powered by compressed air? |

Those are some pretty nie wheels, though Im not a fan of all those little holes around where the lug nuts go. And IMHO
|
BBS LM's...very expensive!
-Ted |
I'm just jealous that I can't afford a SUV with 22" chrome rims. :(
|
i get to work on Bobby Jackson's Escalade with 26" dubs....
am i cool now that i get to drive the bling? are you sure? dammit! 18" is too big for an FC, i'm glad i didn't make that mistake. and since when do you have to have wheels poking out the side to be cool too? i hate that look. even with the stock fenders and hardly able to squeeze in there without rubbing is the best fit imo. |
You think 22" rims on an SUV is bad, theres a Caprice Classic with 25" rims around Killeen. He had to raise the car about 5 inches just to fit them under the car. What was really funny was when he just had the rears.
BTW, I do think those first fims look great on FC's. When ever I get the money for rims (sometime next decade, at this rate) I'm planning on getting those. |

What does this have to do with anything? Plus your 16...I doubt your affording 22"s either, unless high school pays more than it did a few years ago. |
what kind of offset would give a 17x7 rim enough clearance but not stick out?

o yea i forgot to mention that im also upgradeing my brakes because they are worn to fuck because of drifting and all, im sure i could just replace the pads and be fine but i saw some slotted disk brakes on ebay for like 350 for front and rear so i think ill just go with that setup, but noone really awnsered my question about the rims i found does anyone know any good 4 LUG rims that look good, preferabally 5 spoke but yea 4 lug rims, and what would a 4 to 5 lug conversion do for performance? |
^ to have more lugs holding youre wheel on,
wider more selection of wheels. besides 4 lugs are gay, and will never find out how they managed to make those single pot calipers stop the car, the front brakes on base's are smaller than my rear brakes. |

i have +38 offset, +35 would fit better, +30 would probably be best but may require fender rolling depending on the tire width you use. |

Ok so how much money would it take to convert from a 4 lug to 5 lug, can i buy a kit somewhere, how much work would it take, and how long. i searched, no informative threads. thanks guys |
