Just read the first few posts - did you pick up the Water Wetter? Crappy Tire now carries it for about $15. :)

Mine generally runs about 84c on the LT-8 display, which equates into around 185 F

The red warning light will blink at 88 C (190F)

Generally if your vehicle is reaching 190-195 it's running warm. 200 is alittle past the safe side IMO.

Yeah, same as the CT spin-off PartSource. At least some of our distributers are starting to carry a bit of the mainstream stuff like Redline...

I'm actually using the Royal Purple stuff :)

Koyo with stock fans here... Water temp never goes above 185-190. Gotta love that Koyo radiator :D

I got the stock radiator on my NATurbo, but I got a FARKIN AWESOME supra style side mount intercooler to keep that runnin cold (stole that idea from a friend with an eclipse GS LoL), and i also got two 3500 CFM e-fans "N"-Rigged to be always on.

Just the subject I was looking for. I put a new radiator and clutch fan on it. the temp read 185 so why does my dummy guage read above half to 3/4?

I installed a 160f Tstat on my FB, now my sw gauge reads about 175-185 all the time. Before, on my stock tstat, I was running way hot, about 210+, so Im feeling better now! hehe

:D

Take that post and throw it straight in the garbage. I was using a Sunpro gauge at the time, tapped in at the filler neck, and I've since concluded that it's readings were mostly baloney. Especially with the temps diving the way it reported during winter cruising. My only guess at an explanation is that the cold air blowing through the engine bay affected the line running from the sensor to the gauge, which in turn nosedived the reading.

I have a digital Cyberdyne gauge in there now, tapped in at the same location. I spent 6 hours on an expressway yesterday, in temps just below freezing.

The gauge never went below 176F. It mostly sat at 180F, and even climbed to 183F near the end of the trip (even though it was even colder out by then...)

My coolant mix is now 70/30 with just one bottle of WW. Same fan, same rad, no special cooling mods.

In traffic, the efan is set to kick in at 195F. And it does, often. But, cruising, even before the weather got colder, she would be steady at 180F. Right where she's supposed to be. At the very least, my thermostat's doing its job. :)
