hi i've got s4 t2 microtech, just wondering how to install the air/ fuel meter. Thanks

i guess u should be using O2 sensor signal same like u would do with stock ECU, check which wire is it with your Microtech manual...

Aaron Cake 11-02-03 02:32 PM

Connect it as usual...I believe the Microtech O2 wire is black w/brown stripe.

rx7_turbo2 11-02-03 07:53 PM

Keep in mind the narrow band O2 even used with your Microtech is useless. In fact it's worse than using nothing at all.

NZConvertible 11-02-03 10:29 PM

That's a really ignorant statement...

The Microtech O2 sensor input is for closed-loop control, just like nearly every other programmable ECU out there. This is specifically what the O2 sensor was designed for.

You need to tee into this signal wire for the A/F gauge, which should only be used for general engine monitoring, not tuning.

Jason, Graham Is right, just that he didn't present It all that nice.

The O2 Sensor function will not affect any of the other functions If there Is no O2 Sensor connected to the Microtech.

I made all my connections directly to the LT8 ie. Power/Ground/O2 Sensor and It worked out clean as can be.

Aaron should have known better.:D, considering he helped me with the LT8 Install. I guess It's blurry to him b'c It was getting dark. The O2 Sensor wire running off the LT8 Is Black/Red.

TonyTurboII 11-02-03 11:29 PM

O2 is black wirh red stripe.

I completly disagree that an A/F gauge on the stock sensor is "useless" and "worse than nothing at all". If you understand what they're displaying and know how to interpret the readings they can be very useful.

Most people who critisise A/F gauges are talking about their ability to do something they were never designed to do, i.e. accurately read full-load mixtures.

How many people here have you all seen buying and installing an AFR gauge to "tune"? I think that is most of them which have an S-AFC and want a cheaper way than going to a dyno or buying a wideband setup with a display.

NZConvertible 11-03-03 02:00 AM

Who said anything about tuning? He just asked how to hook it up.

silverrotor 11-03-03 05:15 AM

I was refering to the O2 Sensor not needed for the Microtech to run effectively, as rx7_turbo2 mentioned. I still stick to my demise that the A/F Ratio Gauge Is a cheap, effective Gauge. Heck, I've got one myself.:D

Sorry, black/red...You'd think I would have known after installing this many... :D But I was close...
