Autocross pics of my car.
I only have 2 pics of my car from an autocross last week in the DFW area. These pictures were taken from a fellow autocrosser who takes pictures of everyone's cars and posts them to a website. His website is http://www.autocrosspictures.com for anyone who would like to see some autocross pics.

Awesome to see 2nd gen running at Pennington in TX.
I will probably be running with you in ES when I am not racing with my dad in our EMOD 1982 rx7 with a ......chevy 350......I know Iknow. At least I still own an RX7:) |
"LOL, NA FC's are funny :p:" - JoeD.
 If you can't tell, i'm still really pissed at that [obscenity] for saying that  Looks like fun! :) |
fun, ain't it :)

Mario Yes, the springs and sway bars are stock. The only mods to the car are Falken Azenis tires, and KYB AGX shocks. |
Yep, Thats me:)
Don't fret, I drive a 1989 GTU on the street so I still have some claim to the rotary world:p: Originally posted by Ziggy682 You guys aren't the ones who have the first gen RX-7 with the top chopped off that says RX-355 on the side are you? |
Glad to see you out there flogging your car! I love me some autox!
Struts will do nothing to stop body roll what so ever. I have experienced that. And if you change the springs say good by to E Stock. You will then go prepared (ESP). James |
Awfull lot of cones knocked over :(
|
Those look to be pointer cones. No peanlty there.

I bought my car specifically to dodge some cones with it :D

Looks good! I have 350lbs front and 250lbs rear (ground control) springs and still have a little roll.

stick with it. learn the car as it stands now. Then, when you don't see you're times improving any more, then start modding the car. many people think that the car needs improvements first of all, but its actually the driver that needs to grow.
|
That looks like a lot of fun. I keep saying im going to go to the auto X here in town, but have yet to get around to it :(

nice... i do think body-roll will effect it.. i would look into stiffer springs.

I'll respond to the camera mount. I autocross my '87 NA and have put together a homemade camera mount. Mine is a 2+2, so I folded down the rear seats and screwed a PVC pipe flange into the back. Then I put a measured length of PVC pipe on it that fits right into the flange. On top of the pipe, I put a cap on it that has a bolt in it that screws in the hole that is in the bottom of the camcorder that you use for mounting to a tripod.
I have to recline the passenger side seat way back so that you can get a good shot out of the front. I get some vibration, but the videos turn out pretty good. I imagine that if I didn't have the rear seats and could mount it directly to the floor or something that it wouldn't vibrate as much. I'll try to take a picture and post it. Check with your tech guys at the autocross as to whether they will let you run with it. I have seen a lot of crazy camera mounts get through. There is this guy in a honda that has a full sized tripod rigged up in the back seat of his car strapped down with bungee cords. Go figure. Total cost is about $6 for the mount. Hope this helps. |
