anyone using HKS PFC-FCON?

i am about to buy an HKS PFC-FCON. i was wondering what u guys that use this think of it?

I'm using one, but it came with my car so I don't know the before and after... I do know that they run the hell outta your injectors :D

Scott 89t2 06-01-03 05:15 PM

it's not worth the money ($1000 new!!!) much rather have a S-afc, even if the same price.

rotary13bt 06-01-03 06:01 PM

well im getting a used unit for 200 with the GCC also. when u say it runs the hell outta your injectors, do u mean u replace them frequently?

i used one and its great for what it is. if you get the gcc its abourt as good as a safc (better in some ways worse in others).

how is it better? how is it worse?

rotary13bt 06-01-03 08:07 PM

also is there a noticable difference in power?

I like the fcon more than the safc. With the safc you have a 2 dimension fuel map. With the fcon you have a 3 dimension fuel map.

its better because its not trying to trick the ecu, it actually goes between the ecu and injectors. its also a lot faster so the car runs better. the downside is that without the gcc you cant change injectors, and it doesnt have a cool blue screen

Wow, where did you find one with GCC for that price? I am selling a same package (FCON, GCC, FCD, Boost sensor and all harnesses) but can't sell for that low ($200)! I would like to re-price my package. Please provide suggestion. Thanks.

no , but I can feel the car is running rich after installed

you can wire the safc into the PFCON, when i was installing my safc, apexi provided instructions on how to connect the safc o the PFCON.

with the GCC, cant you compensate for that though?

rotary13bt 06-02-03 11:39 AM

also is anyone running at a higher boost pressure with the FCON?

j9fd3s 06-02-03 11:46 AM

i was running 11-13psi with mine, it was rich enough to stumble

were you running 11-13 psi without a boost controller?

ducetius 06-06-03 01:10 PM

Since you can run a SAFC with a PFCON
Does anyone know which is the better setup, assuming that the SAFC and the GCC cost the same

1) SAFC + PFCON
or
2) GCC + PFCON

the boost controller helped boost at the low end, up top it would do 11-13, with or without it
