not sure what u mean by take care of it please elaborate. T2 hood ftw

john ward 09-26-07 10:31 PM

ya and i took care of it by putting it on and if you meant care like cleaning then yes i wash it normally and have waxed it

CarzArKoo1 09-27-07 02:48 AM

yeah, waxing, all of that stuff trying to keep the cf hood nice and new.

Wh1t3 C0m3t 09-27-07 04:03 AM

just treat it like the rest of the car body. if its from a good company it should be cleared w/ a UV protectent to prevent fading

DragonRx7 09-27-07 01:06 PM

I don't have one yet, but it's getting painted when I do. If I want to show off the carbon fiber, they can look at the underside.

The Wankler 09-27-07 01:26 PM

Keep it covered or inside the garage durring hot sunny days.

Waxing And Not Going Trhough Fields And Not Loosing Control

Wax on wax off.

Digi7ech 09-27-07 02:00 PM

Waxing.

My hood was mint until this summer. I got lazy and let thr rain/dirt and sun attack my car for about 3 months.

I washed it last week and saw some nasty oxidized looking sections :( I think I need to a bit of rubbing compound to get it out.

I seen what sun damage does to CF, and all I have to say is DAMN! My buddy's evo spoiler was hella faded after about a month of being lazy!

I plan to get a cabon fiber T2 hood and it will be waxed and washed religously and covered when under high sunlight

phoenix7 09-27-07 02:30 PM

^^^^^^^^y?

If you're gonna waste $$ on a CF hood why not have a functional vented hood?? Even if you DO go turbo do you PLAN on keeping the top mount?

Slammedblk7 09-27-07 04:09 PM

Yeah I wax mine every time I wash the car, The key is to keep the top coat moisturized. If not, it will fade and crack. Also when I dont drive mine, it is under a car cover.

Slammedblk7 09-27-07 04:11 PM

this is a freshly waxed CF hood

Just glad I could say, "Oh well. Not my car!"

phoenix7 09-27-07 06:16 PM

i think it's VIS but i'm not 100% sure on that.

EuroTrader 09-27-07 08:55 PM

I was just wondering... why do people get carbon fiber T2 style hoods if they have a front mount intercooler? seems pointless to me. Also, these "carbon fiber" hoods only have a tiny ass layer of carbon fiber on them. It's not like they are really carbon fiber hoods. A real carbon fiber hood would cost a few GRAND.
