i was thinkin about this set up, but i hear is only good for drifting and blah blah, plus if you go with a front mount it'll be cheaper and more work space in the bay, but if you want to go on then good luck homie oh btw many of the fc's with a v setup are drifters

There are a few guys here running a v-mount. Search it up, front mount and v-mount separately.

im looking into it as well, ive got my eye on a spearco core, fluidyne rad, and fans...ect.

all im missing is a tig welder.

i dont wanna buy a aftermarket hood, so im gonna do a bit of work on the stock n/a hood.

it should be pretty solid when its done.

mabey im not thinking hard enough about it, but i dont see any benefit to runing the vmic exclusively wth a drift car, except for makeing it harder to **** up your ic.

but the same goes for grip as well?

Im gonna build a V-mount setup for my drift FC. Using a ebay cooler, koyo rad, flexalite puller fans, NA home-chopped hood and a home-fabbbed duct.
Im so tired of wrecking the fmic and i hope i can get better airflow over my radiator!
I wanna se some pictures too!

im not doing it for drifting, i dislike any of it, its for a road race car, so i figured that running an fmic you have the intercooler in front of the radiatior (obviously) so there wont be much air going to the radiator, therefore with a v mount there is more room for air to disspate heat from the engine bay with proper ducting and so forth....

I'd love to see pics- or at the very least, plans- for some of these home-modified hoods.

vmounts allow for fresh air to get to the radiator. with a front mount the air passes through the ic before it gets tothe radiator. this hurts the performance of the radiator. the big down side to vmounts is that they are more expensive to get setup properly.

Expensive if you can't do the work yourself.

Do it, I say.

get your foot outta your mouth.

part for part comparing FMIC vs VMIC..

The biggest cost difference is intercooler piping.

Doing labor/installation yourself, a VMIC CAN BE considerably easier and cheaper to do than a FMIC.

as jaiyurai has it in stock location or in front where the fmic would mount to or you could get fd oil coolers and have them under the headlights....i like the fact that theres much more room under the headlights (as you see in justins car) for the oil cooler(s) i would definetly bolt them there....you can make custom ducts to have air flowing to the oil coolers...

Yeah but he has taken alot of stuff off like brake ducts, brackets etc. I forget what else but I remember when I did my FMIC there was alot of stuff on both sides. Seems like it would take alot more work on my vert. I kept all my piping and intercooler in between the frame rails.
