Holy hell! Was this car parked in saltwater or somthing? I'd be concerned about rust underneath of this car, if that's what your underhood looks like.

It was sitting in a field for one year
underside is great
this is the car that was infested with bee's btw

damn looks more like it sat for 10 yrs to me.... thats some mad corrosion on the upper intake manifold! geez!

Don't be discouraged by the rust, just be cautious of the moving parts that could cause a problem if they don't move smoothly. I see that you have the V.D.I in take. Make sure that your valve are nice and clean if you want the system to work properly. I had a 6-port 13b myself and if restored some power after freeing up the 6 port actuators. What year is the throttle body that your trying to salvage, because there are diffrences.

what can you save off that motor? depends on a couple of things.....
How much space do you have?
Are you married?/have your girlfriend living with you?
do you plan on working on many more n/a's or have you thought about going to a turbo car?

answer those and you'll know how many parts you can salvage....

but I would keep the full intake....the s5 manifolds are often purchased by guys with s4's looking to swap theirs....if not at least the upper most intake looks neat polished and on a shelf.

the actual core of the motor I would definetly keep too....if nothing else you can get a couple $$ from a rebuilder who would reuse the housings/ rotors / irons....or even a ceramit coating place would probably give you a buck or two for them.
