Aftermarket seat brackets
Tryin to drop in some aftermarket seats into my fc but not sure about the brackets. In tended for a Honda civic. Is there a way to make them work or a way to mount bottom mount seats to the current brackets
|
Wait, what?
You want to use Honda Civic brackets in an FC and you post on the forums if anyone knows how? I am going to have to say... Figure it out yourself. |
use the stock seat brackets and figure out a way of mounting them to the seats you have.
no a fucking honda civic bracket will not fucking fit a fucking FC... the FC seat brackets are the sliders, putting sliders on sliders? no. |
you can get breast implants, and you can get lasik... but you cant fix stupid!
|
AND THAT IS ENOUGH!
No more bashing or you get CITED. If nobody can help this poster with Helpful info then do not POST. |
These brackets are specific for the FC
86-92 Mazda RX7 Seat Bracket from Bride at Andy's Auto Sport They also make just the bracket and no slider to put the seat on.Use universal sliders. I used that setup. You can Google: seat brackets rx7 Or Seat brackets FC3S,and you will get some more info. |
Thanks for the input. New to the rx7 world just trying to figure out what's interchangeable with what and what I can use in the car with minimal fabrication. I ended up going with a pair of corbeau's but haven't tried to install them yet. They are bottom minted seats so I'm going to try to just tweak the stock brackets.

i don't believe corbeau's will fit on the stock brackets without making a cross bar to mount it to. but if i remember correctly corbeau does make brackets for the FC to fit their seats.

Awesome appreciate the help. Ill be hitting that project up this weekend ill try to post up some pics when I'm done

I built a Cross braces out of flat steel (about 3 inches wide, about a 1/16") that was wide enough to hit the holes of the seat and the bracket.
That was because nothing would line up. So,flip the seat.Place the flat steel across the front hole to hole,(going width of seat,NOT Lengthwise!), then the same across the back of the seat.Mark the holes for the seat. Then put the flat steel on the Floor seat bracket to see where the seat will fit. Take in mind that the Seat is going to take up some room,so adjust the placement or your seat will either hit the Hump or be too close to the door. You may have to adjust height.Washers or anything you can think of will suffice. |
misterstyx's description accurately describes how you'd install the seat...on the driver side.
I'd start on the passenger side, it's much more difficult and the driver seat will seem simple in comparison. |
you can order brackets from wedge, they will build them to your spec
If you can reuse the sliders from the donor seat its a fairly simple procedure using tape measure and common sense. but before you start any of that measure the height of the seat to see if your legs will end up on top of the steering wheel see my example here https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generati...-seats-856823/ |
