go with teh Super Nows, a lil more exotic part over the awr.

Josh18_2k 10-22-09 08:40 PM

who cares about exotic..
who has the cheapest toe links? is it just AWR and supernow?

tvrbo 10-27-09 03:28 PM

too funny josh

anyway, the awr and the purple ones are the only links I can find too. I'm making my own in a couple of weeks with for 1/4 of the price. I'll post pics on the piston board.

You know that the rear toe adjustment is done by the eccentric nut. The only reason you would need the aftermarket toe rod is because you used a soild bushing or a bearing in place of the bushing.
Thanks Robert

IIRC, the AWR setup requires you drill out the hole on the trailing arm for the AWR hardware. The SuperNOW setup doesn't require this; it comes with tapered bolts like the stock setup.

Josh18_2k 10-27-09 09:14 PM

anyone hacked a stock link in half? does it look like its modifiable?
i was thinking if its hollow, you could tap the insides with opposing threads and use a center section to adjust. obvioulsy strength is an issue, and i dunno enough about materials (yet)

My AWR ones have been sitting in a box for over a year for exactly this reason! I wish I knew about the supernow ones when I ordered them.

This is the way to go IMO, as the factory eccentric sucks. Adjusting it is a total pain in the ass and I don't think it keeps its setting well.

Have to tried to adjust the toe? Its easy. I use to do alignments for a shop years ago. Like I said earlier the toe rod is only used when you replace the stock bushing with a bearing. After the bearing is installed you have noway to adjust the rear toe. That is why the toe rod comes in place of the eccentric setup.
Thanks Robert

Josh18_2k 10-28-09 01:21 PM

i have the bearing, and yes you can still adjust toe with the eccentric bolt.

A friend of mine has the A1 racing ones here:

They seem pretty nice.

fc3s91 10-28-09 06:33 PM

wrong part.

JFixer 10-28-09 06:35 PM

It's the right part just a generic picture. Read the description.

Josh18_2k 10-28-09 07:08 PM

never heard of those. anyone have a pic? or at least used them? they are a bit cheaper..

Yeah, I've done it a bunch of times, I drive my car on track a lot.

My point is that replacing the eccentric bushing and toe control rod is a better setup overall than the stock setup.

Do you know if you have to drill a hole with these such as with the AWR ones?

I think you could make your own for under $150 with good quality heim joints. I may do a how to on this as soon as I can get back under my car. :icon_tup:
