ACV blocked off and now it wont idle
Okay, so I bought this car and it idled fine. However, when he took the smog pump off, he never blocked off the holes that he left. I happened to have a spare plate to block off the AC & CV, so I did that. At first when I started it, it died. Then it idled at 3 grand. Now it's back to not idling. What to do?

Probably have the vac line to the ACV unhooked instead of plugged.

s4 na btw
nope, not that... |
oh yeah, and as a bump.. when i turn the idle screw, that doesn't seem to help much :(

You've got a vac. leak for sure. Get some carb-cleaner, or starting fluid and spray a little bit on where you *think* there might be a leak. If the idle (or whatever you want to call it, lol) jumps or rises, you've found your leak.
Make SURE the block-off plate is PERFECT and is sealed correctly. Also, like Mark said, make sure all your vac. lines are connected correctly (and not cracked or anything). Good luck, |

aight, new development... completely out of the blue it started idling at about 1500. I turned the "$1000 screw" down and it is now set correctly. It just had a two-day sebaticle

You probably knocked the plug to the BAC valve plug loose when you were messing with the ACV. If I had a dollar for everytime I have had a car come in for this.....
