92 & 93 rx7?

what is the difference in the rear quarter panel of a 92 & 93 rx7?

Depends on what generation you're talking about. Technically they made S5's in 92 and also S6 3rd gens in 92. So the answer is, 1)the whole thing is different since they are different cars or 2)nothing is different since they are the same car.

yeah its a 3rd gen 92 efini had a small accident and need to replace the quarter right panel. so im guessing buying the quarter panel for a 93 will be ok

Yep you'll be fine

Every 3rd gen is the same shell. There are no differences other than the steering wheel location. Even then, it's just a different firewall. The rest of the chassis is the same. The only difference between a lhd and rhd chassis is the firewall. Everything else is the same. In your case you should stop calling your car a 92 rx7 and start calling it an fd. Here on the forum a 92 rx7 isn't always an fd and like the first response you got, clarification will be required. Just refer to it as an fd and you can get answers faster.

Yep. IIRC the only RX7 sold in the U.S. in '92 was the convertible so calling it an FD or 3rd gen would keep down the confusion. Just curious how did you get a '92. Is it a RHD import?

Just a little FYI ...but their was also more than 900 FD3S made in 1991 for the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM)

FD3S is the first 4 VIN number of Japanese (RHD)
FD is the first 2 VIN numbers of American cars (LHD)

i found it funny when LHD guys called their car; FD3S
but whatever,I understand the JDM mazdarbation.

To come back to the subject, as mention above
you’ll be fine from any quarter panel from 1993 to 2002 those are the “official” numbers for the 3rd Gen Rx-7.

even if in reality ,
the 3rd Gen was made from 1991 to 2003.

Be very careful, light from the camera flash could warp your body panels.

Production for the US market 1993 model year Rx7's starts 12/28/1991 and ends 6/1992, so there were no 1993 model year Rx7's built in the calendar year of 1993.

the Japanese market cars start 10/1991. it does overlap with the final FC run, which were all Verts, July 1991 to September of 1992
