2nd Gen 13BT JDM Clips

I was wondering if there is a good market for the 2nd Gen JDM front clips, I am bringing some in from japan on my current order, and was wondering if there is a good market for them,

Is the rx7 community receptive to the JDM swaps?

Let me know,

dr0x 03-16-03 07:05 PM

... there isnt much to swap IMHO. With other companies there are engines they didnt send here. A s5 from over there is just as good as the ones we have here.

Now a cosmo front clip you could sell pretty quick :)

EternalRage 03-16-03 07:23 PM

Is there a good market for them as Dead engine Replacements?

isint the hp gain a good selling point?

domokunSPL 03-16-03 07:28 PM

i'm interested. Infact i'm looking for one with in the next month or so. i found a company that will get me one. If you can get my a front clip that is cuz from behind the center console then thats cool. i want everything to do a rhd conversion. Also i want all the body pannels attached. how much do you think you can do that for? remeber sr20 and 3sgte clips only cost around $2000 bucks

EternalRage 03-16-03 07:33 PM

my clips will include all the body panels, the hood, the guage cluster, (so the kilometers are verified!!) the dash, steering wheel, EVERYTHING under the hood, it will be complete, i havent brought in 13bt clips before, but all the other engines i bring in are TOP QUALITY, so i expect no less on the 13bt's.

I will have some SR20's and 3SGTE's comming on too! :)

domokunSPL 03-16-03 07:40 PM

price. i need price. the reson i mentioned the sr and 3s is because they are cheap to get. i don't have much money and i wont spend anymore then what SRs go for. 13bs are just as easy to find if not easier then SRs and way easier then 3S

EternalRage 03-16-03 07:43 PM

e-mail me if you want more info on them,

EternalRage 03-16-03 08:54 PM

There is good intrest in the Cosmo? i can bring those in too!

EternalRage 03-17-03 07:43 PM

Have many people placed 3rd gen motors in the 2nd gen body,?

saltlakebay 03-17-03 08:07 PM

There is a rather large market for them. Great as drop in replacements. If you can get cosmo front clips even better :D

EternalRage 03-17-03 08:15 PM

The cosmo front clips i have had before, but i had a hard time selling them because they cost so damed much,

the 13bt Turbo II front clips have sold good in the past, same with the third gen clips,

PM me with a price on a 2 rotor cosmo clip please.

Liquid Anarchy 03-18-03 01:16 AM

the only real selling point of a JDM FC front clip (I would think) would be for REAL JDM nuts, who want to convert to RHD

Mark'sMazda 03-18-03 10:11 AM

Or for NA guys that want to do the t2 conversion.

Rotory 03-18-03 11:06 AM

what do u mean the JDM nuts??? lmao

EternalRage 03-18-03 07:36 PM

Has anybody done the conversion?

RotaryWeaponSE7EN 03-18-03 09:11 PM

Eternal u got any pics of the front clips. The conversion shouldn't be to hard. Maybe just some drilling.

It would probably be cheaper to buy a J-Spec Engine.

Remember, you're ordering a front clip; you get a hood, transmission, and engine towards your TII conversion... you still need a driveshaft, and a TII Rear End; and if you source that, you can probably get the hood and transmission (which should be cheaper, as you don't have to pay to import more weight).

The biggest "gain" of ordering a front clip, in my opinion, is still the RHD aspect.

GarageBoy 03-19-03 03:34 PM

Clips are obtained, how? They're chopped off wrecked RX7s, right ?

Liquid Anarchy 03-19-03 03:35 PM

Correct. Usually RX-7's w/ heavy rear-end damage.

Icemark 03-19-03 03:45 PM

yeah price is the issue

EternalRage 03-19-03 06:56 PM

The Clips for the 2nd gen's are RARELY obtained due to the car being in a accident,

In japan a car MUST be removed fromt he road after certain miles, or if it fails one of its yearly, quite strickt, inspections,

most of the time the 13bt clips i recieve have really low kilometers, and have not been in a accident!

jsnow82 03-19-03 06:59 PM

do those clips come with ecu, and etc without the rear part of the drivetrain to turbo your car?

SIR PLEASE PROVE THIS STATEMENT!!!!!

EternalRage 03-19-03 07:15 PM

This is what i have been told by my suppliers in Japan, i would think they would know the reason they are removed from the road?

What is the company that is getting one for you? Anybody done a RHD before?

flubyux2 03-25-03 09:21 AM

the best comany that my supra friends go thru is jarcoinc.com. The MK3 supra owners sometimes do the JDM conversion from the MA70 to the JZA70 by swapping in a 1JZ-GTE, tranny, driveshaft, and rear end.

Jarco ships in containers like once a week or once every 2 weeks. Their half cuts include EVERYTHING except maybe like the gas tank. I know it includes everything typical of a half cut (all engine compartment pieces, body panels, complete dash and steering column, pedals, console, ecu, harness) but it also includes the other important stuff like the tranny, driveshaft and complete rear end including the hubs and brakes i think.

everyone likes them because of their quality, but not the prices.

Some pictures form Jarco's exporter in Japan doing the Deed

JZA70 in the air
JZA70 still in the air
Engines for sale

All it takes is a big Sawzall and a fork lift and you Too could have your own USDM exporting operation!!!

i wonder if the Japanese would buy our Camaros and Vettes and what not... ive seen whole GM cars for sale on Yahoo japan. like an 81 stingray, astro vans, camaros...hmmm...
