2 1/2 inch or 3.1 inch exhaust piping for an NA 1991???
I have a 1991 coupe naturally aspirated 5 spd (don't think that matters) and i have prospects of getting a large pineapple street port (if you're from the pac nw you'll understand)
The exhaust i'm looking at is the corksport cat-back, available with 2.5 or 80mm piping. unfortunately i don't have enough money for the full system which costs less than buying the cat-back, headers and race pipe and silencer separately |
With an N/A engine wouldn't your torque go to s**t with a port?
|
would it?? i have no idea :/
i've never heard that before... maybe |
as for the exhaust just go with 3inch straight pipe from the headers from any local muffler shop.
thats what I have and it sounds decent. |
Wait for more advice...

 moldypoo .... yes yes wait for more advice ..

2.5 is the best all around size. if its a race car, go 3"
keep in mind the CS exhausts are loud! |
3 inch will increase noise (no turbo to quiet it down) and hurt torque. i ran 2.5" on my old non turbo
|
Run 2.5
|
Yeah, a 3" exhaust will kill torque... Idiots..

and 3" (w/o in-line muffler/ presilencer) on an n/a sounds like ass....
|
Alright 2.5 sounds like the way to go, I am planning on using this for performance not just sound, and torque is definitely important. it sounds like 3'' would give me a little more on top end but it sounds like 2.5 has more pros than cons making it a better compromise overall.
thanks! |
I would run a 2.5 i agree with sharingan 3.0 in my opinion is loud
|
Corksport stuff sucks. Please don't support that garbage of a company.
Racing beat exhaust has sucked for a couple years now as they outsource to Taiwan. |
Build your own :) You'll save money, and can customize it to your sound preferences...
