hahahaha, that would solve the prob lol

trochoid 06-20-05 09:16 PM

Throw those pos's away. You need hub centric spacers if you want to do this properly, and safely.

slpin 06-20-05 09:41 PM

no
you need new rims with different back spacing

if you want to do this properly, and safely.

I don't disagree with that, even some of the aftermarket wheels, with proper offset, need hubcentric rings. If he wants to use his current rims, that is his best option.

they are TII rims....

RETed 06-20-05 11:54 PM

Why are you using those spacers?
Are you sure they are 15mm?
15mm is like over half an inch!
They don't look like over half an inch in the pic?
If they are true 15mm spacers, the rear lug nuts would fall off - do you have longer studs in the back?

Hmm, you really shouldn't be having those problems with stock TII wheels.

slpin 06-21-05 01:08 AM

drew - exactly what i was thinking

rotarygod 06-21-05 01:13 AM

This is probably a dumb question but are you sure all of the lugnuts are tight?

lemme check :(

JLa 06-21-05 01:26 AM

Just a couple of guess', but have you checked your wheel bearings? If you did, how fresh are your tires, maybe they're out of balance or out of round if they're old?

I want to see a picture of the back side of the wheel where it meets the hub. I know this should be really obvious, but people do screw this up... Does the wheel sit flush against the hub?

Also, with the wheel bolted on and the car jacked up so that it's off the ground can you move the wheel in and out at the top and bottom or side to side?

Renegade_07 06-21-05 07:59 AM

hey

i have the same set of springs on koni yellows and i am having the same issue with rubbing on stock 15 gxl rims. I am looking into changing rims soon and i too was going to get spacers. But now reading this i think should get new springs :(

JSmith0101 06-21-05 10:25 AM

Yeah, check the lugs, then check them again. Then check your studs to see if they are stripped out somewhere. When I sheared a stud I got a thumping sound and had to limp home. So make sure everything is kay and there is no stripping the on studs, because that is bad. And if you're trying to put these new tires on your original studs, it will never happen, you'll have to replace them.

theone81 06-21-05 08:54 PM

PROBLEM SOLVED LT wheel was loose due to my stupidity of not tightning "One lugnut" yes ONE lugnut.....

JDuncan 06-21-05 11:55 PM

ROLL YOUR FENDER LIPS... Or is that not a big gouge going around the outside edge of your tire? Between your lowering springs, and your spacers pushing the wheels out towards the fender, that might be the source of the other noise. (not the thumping, which was the lugnut noise)

crashdummy 06-22-05 12:22 AM

where did you get those spacers anyway?

theone81 06-22-05 01:24 AM

www.RotaryXecret7.com

CarzArKoo1 05-02-08 05:52 PM

any JDM shop or online store, they sell kics spacer.

freemanrx7 05-02-08 07:01 PM

I used 1/4 spacers on my wheels(17 inch CIVIC SI) NO problem with noise.
