13.57 stock port S4.

Just did it. 1988 SE All stock port, RB header, Cone filter, weight reductions, and 14" slicks, got me a 13.57 @ 102 MPH and 8.5 in the 1/8 mile. 60 FT times were 1.8.

Just passing along the good news.

PS: the slicks gave me 1 full second faster. prevoius runs without were 14.58 @ 94 MPH and spinning first and second and pull 2.6 60 ft times....,

1987RX7guy 08-08-03 03:06 PM

rotarygod 08-08-03 03:09 PM

How much weight reduction? I'm not going to be a prick about this but others may cry bs. It would be wise to post your timeslip.

gsracer 08-08-03 03:09 PM

How the hell did you manage to get the trap to jump 8 mph. If you trap 102 on slicks you should be trapping even higher on street tires. You should tell the track their timing system is off....

GLHS 08-08-03 03:12 PM

Haters..geezs

Its all good... I know I have the fastest N/A in the 3 counties around me. Plus we have a large RX7 club and they have helped make the car this nice.

gsracer 08-08-03 03:15 PM

Not ''hating'', it's hard to debate physics.

SonicRaT 08-08-03 03:16 PM

You'd need a 2000lb car to do it with what you've said for mods.

GLHS 08-08-03 03:21 PM

Yes more mods.. but stock ports. stock clutch..etc on slicks...weight reduction was the key factor, getting it to weight under 2000.

SonicRaT 08-08-03 03:23 PM

And of course you're not going to specify how you got it that light, right?

gsracer 08-08-03 03:54 PM

How exactly did you manage to lose 700 pounds

wpgrexx 08-08-03 03:55 PM

I am very interested as well as to what weight reductions you did. My car is pretty stripped, but there is no way Im close to 700 lbs

jacobcartmill 08-08-03 03:56 PM

ok GLHS how about you scan us a timeslip? i'd like to believe you.

1987RX7guy 08-08-03 04:06 PM

Dude honestly you need to post the timeslip ASAP or your full of crap.

Relisys190 08-08-03 04:11 PM

i second you Santiago... i mean i've heard of 13's for n/a's but...

-Markus

"Way to go anyhow"

Aaron Cake 08-08-03 04:14 PM

OK. We all agree that he needs to post proof. Please no more "post your timeslips replies".

Needless to say, a timeslip can lie. I have one that says my NA ran 12s, so timing mistakes happen. Repeatable runs are required.

GLHS 08-08-03 04:15 PM

Part of clubs rules are I can not release any information given to me by the car club, they have over 10 years into developing parts and setups that work. Unless your a member..

What else can I say... it has a sealed cold air box that makes 3 psi @ 70 mph in the box.........

1987RX7guy 08-08-03 04:17 PM

GLHS- Your full of crap now. Instead of capitolizing on their parts design a club is making it stay secret!?!?!?!?!?

You get the BS from me.

Oh and a Time Slip is not part of your mods so post it!

Aaron Cake 08-08-03 04:17 PM

That's impossible.

GLHS 08-08-03 04:22 PM

Peace out...

Please, no flaming. I have just edited GLHS post to remove the flame.

1987RX7guy 08-08-03 04:32 PM

I think people should be able to get banned for intentionally lying and making up stuff.

Untill GLHS gets a timeslip or a a vid of his car its all BS.

GLHS 08-08-03 04:35 PM

Sounds fine to me..... but what if its true?

GLHS 08-08-03 04:36 PM

I changed my own post...and took the flame out...thanks for helping

Aaron Cake 08-08-03 04:36 PM

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof.

Repeatable runs on high quality video would be extraordinary proof.

wpgrexx 08-08-03 04:40 PM

Now I don't know one way or the other if he ran the time or not, I wasn't there. But regardless, why is this forum so quick to hate each other.

We all own the same damn cars, why not encourage and support each other. Is everyone her 17 or something. What the hell!!!

I hope he did run that legit 13.57 and proves it as well beyond a resonable doubt so people have to eat the hate filled words.

go bash some hondas if you need to bash. it should all be positive here for fellow rx7 owners and enthusiasts

Bigretardhead 08-08-03 04:46 PM

so then don't you get a free microtech now?

SonicRaT 08-08-03 04:48 PM

Only if it can be proved without a doubt it was true, and that's only if they had a microtech to begin with.

gsracer 08-08-03 04:55 PM

Unless he had a 50 mph tailwind and the track is angled 10 degrees downhill, there's no way it happened. The timeslip could possibly say so, but then I would question the tracks timing systems. FC's have been out for over 15 years, it's been well established what is and isn't possible.

pengarufoo 08-08-03 05:13 PM

it's certainly possible, but GLHS hasnt provided sufficient evidence to prove he's done it.

dolemite85 08-08-03 05:20 PM

13.57 huh...

hmmmm.... cough bullshit cough

Kuhrazy7 08-08-03 05:28 PM

my turbo II has a landspeed of 480.mph with just minor mods and a new rasberry airfreshener... but i cant show u guys any proof because my car club will kill me if i do.

pengarufoo 08-08-03 05:32 PM

does it have the aaron cake spec strawberry throttle body adapter too?

Kuhrazy7 08-08-03 05:34 PM

oh nah. whats that? it sounds super interesting. It would probably accent my air freshener nicely though.

ilike2eatricers 08-08-03 05:34 PM

about the free microtech deal there were cetain guidelines such as you had to buy and use the microtech and also limits on weight reduction (I believe you had to have a full interior).

It is pretty hard to believe that he ran mid 13s without some proof.

mazdaspeed7 08-08-03 05:56 PM

His car is stripped to the point of not being streetable. He removed his freaking headlight motors for weight savings!!!! His car is a shell. Whats the point?

BTW, I STILL think his times are BS.

ilike2eatricers 08-08-03 06:05 PM

on a sidenot: How much does a fully stripped half backed fc weigh? Just an estimate.

mazdaspeed7 08-08-03 06:10 PM

You could get it below 2K.

pp13bnos 08-08-03 06:12 PM

:bsmeter::bsflag:

I had to...CJ

my_jdm_rx7 08-08-03 06:27 PM

He might SAY it was all motor, but I'm thinking if the TIME is legit, then he sprayed. Just my thought...maybe the NA isn't exactly, "NA"

Roy James 08-08-03 06:44 PM

"Detruich" on the forum ran a 14.6ET in my old car that was very streetable, on 17" wheels with shitty tires and peg leggin' around (in other words open differential), so i guess a really really striped out car with slicks could hit 13s easily (this was on stock ports as well.

$150FC 08-08-03 06:48 PM

erm.

So, like, a couple months ago, you hop on the forum and tell people you ran a 14.5 on whatever your setup was at the time. You said that you thought you would certainly lose a second just by using slicks.

And then like six months later, you come back, and you've done what you've said.

If you're fucking with us, you sure are comitted, that's all I'll say. And I've seen pictures of ~2000# FCs. Heh. Hope your car doesn't look like that.

That said, if you can give us a timeslip or a video of it or ANYTHING, you would get rid of a lot of the horseshit that you've already put up with since (as far as I can tell) you've joined this forum.

Assuming you're not lying, congratulations. There are some other guys that are looking at running ~13.8-13.99s, but no one has ever even shot for a 13.5.

Let me guess, the leader of this club is Tyler Durden? :D

I'm almost inclined to believe your time, since making up something so BS worthy is almost ludicris...:)

Turbo Timmy 08-08-03 07:24 PM

According to the horspower calculator at http://www.dsm.org/tools/calchp.htm if he was 2000 lbs and the time he ran he would be 155-160hp.

J-Rat 08-08-03 07:35 PM

Interesting stuff.... Lots 'o' hatin going on.

That is a really nice time, but I am not buying it. But who knows? Stranger things have happened.

(snip)

"Talk is cheap."
"Take everything with a grain of salt."

I won't go into the obvious reasons, as others have posted them.

Too much people with "questionable" reputations make too many outrageous claims online.&nbsp I once had a guy who claimed he'd run a 12.6 @ 112 in an NA with "siamesed intake runners" with a Wolf3D.&nbsp They could not produce a time slip nor offer any proof backing such claims.&nbsp This is just one example...

Now, GLHS's claim isn't that far fetched, although not offering proof of the run surely degrades it's authenticity.

If anything, I was right about the full second drop in time with the slicks. :D

Read this thread about a different guy and tell me that 13.57 is not possible on a stock port....

-Lee

1987RX7guy 08-08-03 11:12 PM

Its not possible on a stock port. He had a large street port.

88IntegraLS 08-08-03 11:38 PM

I agree that it would be possible on stock ports with slicks, exhaust, stripped car (not streetable), intake, and a nice cool day with high barometric pressure. Being at low altitude would also be helpful.

rotarygod 08-08-03 11:53 PM

That guy in the other thread has a 13 second car but he admits it is on a big streetport. Still impressive none the less. He did it all properly.

Oops I see 1987RX7guy beat me to that part.
