Whats the ideal way to do a burnout?

posting this kind of for fun and to see results on how many different ways people do burnouts. sooo...
What is your ideal way to do a burnout? :)
of course in a 5speed..

just startn 12-26-10 09:11 PM

Put it in reverse, hold the gas pedal to the floor till tops out in reverse (dont let go of gas pedal) put in first gear and dump the clutch:lol:

jjcobm 12-26-10 09:18 PM

Put it in 5th gear, rev it to 8k and pop the clutch. Works every time and the smoke is crazy. My burn out was so cool, I think my engine has too much torque from the adjustable power band I got and the Apexi air filter.

Turn Slight brake Throttle Counter-steer = smoke + fun

87pyro3 12-26-10 10:27 PM

Roll a lil bit using the clutch to move ( feather the clutch ) at high rpm
Dump clutch once moving presto burnout with out the harsh ness on rear end

AUGieDogie 12-26-10 10:32 PM

rev to 3k and dump the clutch, not a good parking lot burnout though.

12AllWays 12-26-10 10:38 PM

Roll into water box, push brake fairly hard, flip switch for line lock, release brake, put into second rev and dump clutch, rev until tires smoke and flip switch to release line lock, tires will grab as you roll forward.

Should make for a pretty good launch...

Thats if you were talking about a legal burnout... Lol

waldog 12-26-10 10:44 PM

Rev high, pop clutch, break half shaft, get towed home.

Spirit-RE 12-26-10 11:26 PM

rev above 6k, slowwwly slip the clutch in 3rd gear(keeps your clutch from imploding), and wonder why the smoke is coming from the center of the car and why the rear wheels are stationary, but don't pay any attention to that... Make sure its a cold day, and do this right after you initially start the car before it warms up. Also pull some air out of your rear tires so they have about 5psi in them, then open up just the bleeder screws on the rear brakes, so ALL your braking force goes to the front brakes(have to leave the rear bleeder screws open while your burning out though...) Make sure the road is NOT wet, or you face the probability of breaking something.

FYI, being you posted this thread, I have a strong reason to believe you might attempt to do the above... DO NOT DO THE TOP PART OF THIS POST.

Auto or manual, makes no difference.

Gallon of gas (87 octane is ok) poured in the passenger seat+One strike anywhere match= the perfect burnout.

BTW, this is the tech section. This stuff belongs in the lounge.

Position the front end of your car about 10 feet from a wall before starting the burnout, the wall will prevent the car from moving forward as you burn out.

i love the video of the corvette!

arghx 12-27-10 09:48 AM

the n/a drivetrain can only take so many clutch dumps. be careful.

Aaron Cake 12-27-10 09:48 AM

If you have an NA RX-7, wind it out to 9K and dump the clutch while sidestepping the brake and keeping your toe on the gas.

If you have a TII, heel toe the brake and hold the engine around 5K then quickly release the clutch.

If you have a big turbo RX-7, just floor it in any gear at any time, don't bother playing with the brake.

FCs4226 12-27-10 09:49 AM

this is how you do it with a RX7!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSFA0...layer_embedded

I would think you would be over immature games like "burning out".

rotary_bünta 12-28-10 11:28 AM

you guys are all wrong. you need a truck to do a burnout:lol:
