Updated my FC a little. [Picture Intensive]

Haven't posted an update in a while, but the cars been through a good amount of money.

Lets see here....

We used to have

http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2009-...CS5600x400.jpg

but then I picked up some Brand New APEXi N1 Duals.

http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2009-...%20Cropped.jpg

And that was good for a while, but then I wanted to go a little lower, so I picked these up.

And Lo and Behold...

http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2009-...00x1200%29.JPG

But I wasn't scraping enough speedbumps and driveways so I purchased some Aero and got to work.

http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2009-...00x1200%29.JPG

http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2009-...00x1200%29.JPG

Around the same time I ran out of tire, so I downloaded some more.

Great progress!!

championadrien 09-23-10 09:24 PM

So then the aero finally got finished after a month of being lazy.

http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2009-...00x1200%29.JPG

But just when I thought I was done, I forgot my right turn signal was still in my old bumper, and I couldnt find the mounting nuts for my new FTP's. So I corrected those problems and produced a product...

So that was my cars journey. I think I've spent about $2k throughout these pics. meh.

Turbo swap dat thang! Car looks great though. I want those same coilovers for my car. What spring rates are they? How's the ride quality?

brian_skotch 09-23-10 09:48 PM

Wait! Why'd you swap bumpers?? And the car really looks AMAZING! the aero really set it off!

Flash 09-23-10 10:07 PM

You've done a nice job, well done! Also interested in your opinions of the coilovers. The body is aluminum IIRC? I've heard that they're really stiff, any truth to that?

BurntOrangeT2 09-23-10 10:08 PM

Wow that thing looks 100% better. I might make one small suggestion, i would paint your headlight covers now so they match the hood and front bumper. They have a noticeable amount of fade it would make the front look much better IMHO.

Front lip - Corksport Odura?

PBM Coilovers are fantastic. Spring rates 10k/8k. Ride is stiff, but its not as stiff as you think, I used to run some old school JIC coils, spring rates unknown, and the pbms ride better. If they're too stiff, you can get a 6k spring from them and run 8k 6k, which is what I was planning to do, but I'm not sure if its worth it anymore. Its really not that bad.

I'm fairly certain they're aluminum body but I would have to go back and double check. Construction feels rock solid, and I would really recommend them to anyone for a low priced/high quality coilover.

I swapped bumpers because this new bumper has a cutout to compliment the Odura Style lip. Also my old bumper had visible holes in the front where the license plate used to be.

Oh and a turbo swap is definitely in the works. I have some RB headers in my backyard right now I'm planning to throw on until then.

Its not that its faded, but Harbor Metallic Blue is a ridiculously hard color to color match, so its just the differences in paints, the pictures kind of hide the paint mismatching but its there. I plan to repaint the whole car down the road so I don't mind about the difference too much atm. And yep corksport odura.

Thanks for all the comments guys! :icon_tup:

driftxsequence 09-23-10 10:24 PM

Hypertek 09-23-10 10:27 PM

Nice to see guys who don't mind cosmetics and suspension before gofast parts. Night and day difference and I know it boost up your feelings about the car.

Im planing to get those for my next coilovers, let us know how you like them.

Boosted11 09-23-10 10:47 PM

Rob XX 7 09-24-10 06:22 PM

i noticed the bull's eyes on the hood from the adhesive holding the inner skin on the outer skin, were they very noticeable after the hood was painted?

iani1.1 09-24-10 06:29 PM

wow talk about a night and day difference. proves that stance alone can make a car look better. great job

Haha I gave my spiel on them about 3 posts up, but they're real great coilovers.

If you're talking about the bare metal patches, they do not show at all after the paint.

Thanks for the comments all. I'm real happy with the outcome.

Rob XX 7 09-25-10 06:59 AM

the bare metal patches is the bonding adhesive, on black hoods that shit shows up, very annoying, looks like hail

trick is to release the adhesive

meteoro 09-25-10 11:23 PM

I'll sell you my MB Boosts for cheap! Check out my build thread for pics

MaczPayne 09-29-10 03:33 PM

Someone told me not all MB wheels are made by the same manufacturer. So I could believe it if the MB Boosts were heavier than the Competitions. As far as I know only the Competitions and maybe the Weapons were manufactured by A-Tech.

The Competitions aren't that bad though. They're probably about 40lbs per wheel with tire.

Wide tires weigh a lot....

`fknfc-7 10-01-10 06:46 PM

They have a website. http://www.gtfactory.jp/cms/

Give them a call. The North American Office. There is probably a fat waitlist.

Thanks for comments!

MaczPayne 10-04-10 11:49 PM

Not sure what you want anymore? I know exactly what you want. Turbo swap.

Definitely. Planning to do it this winter. I can't put my car down during the school year, I do not have another car. But you're right, that doesn't mean I can't start collecting parts right now...

Oh and I am looking for a new power steering rack and pump...

championadrien 11-08-10 02:42 AM

Negative on the spacers.

Wheels are 17x8 +22, 17x9 +27. I am planning to run a +10/+15 on the fronts though. Make it a little more flush.
