opinions on wheels and setup
well i sold the watanabe wheels they just werent doing it for me. im super picky when it comes to wheels that fit a cars body style and design.
i have been looking for a long time and come to my conclusion two sets and am now debating what to do next.... here for reference is how the car sits now. http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...r/IMG00088.jpg http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o.../Img0003_1.jpg the first set is.... lets just say Agressive! 16x8.5 -27offset all the way around... after some calculations i need to account for about 2.45" more than my current watanabe RS8. which will leave aproximatly 1.5" of wheel/tire outside my current stock fenders with full camber on my coilovers. if i go with this setup i will be attempting to use some fender flares or a MAJOR roll/pull. i know some of you will have more experience with this and i will need your input. http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...r/DSC09610.jpg the second set would be a stager 16x7 and 16x8 with a +12 offset. more agressive but not too crazy. possible roll pull slightly on this setup since it would be accounting for about +15 to 16mm more. http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...sskater/1g.jpg feel free to photoshop if you like :) |
i went with the second set just because the overall look of your car at THIS POINT is not that aggressive i just think that with the two tone and the mild body styling this would look sick! Good luck on the decision

i like both of them but your really better of choosing the second set!
|
Second set.
|
second set for me also, i'm liking the the first though, its just the work you would have to do. -27 offset yikes.

cant go wrong with work equips... but id up the size to 17x9.. nothing less
you had 16s before right? http://www.rbwheels.com/index.php?ma...7b0f6997ea3144 http://www.rbwheels.com/images/DSC09142.JPG I know they are kinda pricey unless your getting a good price on the 16s |
Only thing hypertek is I like the look of an oldschool wheel and one reason I sold the watanabe's was to get a wheel with a stepped lip. Plus I'm not a big fan of 17" wheels on these cars. To much wheel looks funny to me.
I am feeling the work equips but the 4 inch lip is tempting!!! |
fuck it go for the first... changed my mind, go big or go home. I think you'll get close to the look of that panda AE86 if your still going for it. Anyway you choose its a win.
|
deff the second.
|
Paint them GOOOLD!!
|
Haha I may paint them. Dunno at this point. Anyone ever attempted fender flares? Anyone have some that they would contribute to the panda!!!
