New aluminum undertray

4 Attachment(s)
So i ran over a tire on the freeway a couple weeks ago and wrecked my stock undertray. since then i have noticed my engine temps have been higher than normal. so i decided to make my own under tray. went to home depot and picked up a 36''X48'' sheet of metal and made a template out of cardboard and started cutting the shit out of it and ended up with this:

sorry not trying to thread jack just putting in some more great ideas

eff_three_see_es 07-27-09 05:14 PM

i saw that thread a while back, that is pretty nifty, but i think it would be kinda heavy and if it came off on the freeway it would be very bad.

whats the thickness and weight of the metal plating ?

Hypertek 07-27-09 05:20 PM

pretty interesting stuff, now go do some freeway runs and let us know how it feels!! hahah jk

cheddarrr 07-27-09 07:05 PM

nice work man! Should be interesting to see the results

R.O.D 07-27-09 07:25 PM

ya the stock undertray is pretty flimsy, i want to do a splitter/undertray on mine

Hypertek 07-27-09 08:07 PM

hey how much was that piece btw? im curious if that size will be long enough to attach to my gp front since it extends farther otu than the stock front. Your car is becoming a street beast =D

Gregory Casimir 07-27-09 11:38 PM

^^Judging by the title "New Aluminum Undertray" I would say it's well... Aluminum.
