The reason I consider this mod "modernized" is because as the tail lights age, the diffusers get more opaque, and start to look like butthole. For example, look at my stock lights. They were dim as sh** even at night.
This mod brightened them up and made them look more up to date. Sure, its not LED tail lights, but it cost me maybe 15$ in supplies and an hour of my time.
Some people like it, some dont. If you dont, we don't need to hear about it.

yea this "remove pieces to change it" isn't "modern", modified yes, modernized? no. I dont know a SINGLE car in MODERN TIMES running lights like these...show me a pic and then ill admit defeat and call them modernized.
LED tails? Modern.
Bulb tails with no diffuser/refractor aka just a shiny reflective surface? Broken.
kevin.

the point is, it looks nicer to some ppl.
the care are 20+ years old... go compare them to another car built in 1986 and tell me they havent been transformed to look "modernized"

If they are done all out they look fine, but just removing the baffles looks ghey... You have to tint them from the inside and put some of those round LEDs in there
I like them, but I really dont think that I would pull a part a nice set to get the look.
Also to all you S4 guys complaining about no how to for your lenses.... HERE!

wait im confused op.
you pulled them off, stuck them in the over for 2 min.
pulled them apart.
removed the diffuser
put them back together
and they are brighter now? is that it?

i'm going to modernize my s5 tails and install 5% window tint film before sealing them up. it should still have the modern look when active and a dark look when off.
I like the way the lights come out but i've been thinking something that slightly changes this. Modernize or what ever you'd prefer to call it. what if you do everything the steps say but before you put it back together you spray the inside of the lens with the tint that way you can keep the glossy finish on the out side of it...
aaaaaaaaaand, BACK FROM THE DEAD! anyone who has done the diffuser delete then spray tinted the inside before re-assembly have any pics of the lights during the day and then on at night? trying to get a good sense of the brightness.......
I agree they look cheap, but i think that darkening them to a safe point to mask the interior a bit is a great idea. and probably some leds would help......idk about the rings tho, maybe justsome led bulbs.
