Gauging Interest: 2010 Second Gen Calendar
Hey guys -
First, let me give you some background information on me. My name is Chris Glog, from NY. I drive an 84 GS, stock. I reshot the body a Land Rover orange roughly 2 years ago. I used to work at a print shop and started going to college for print. I realized it was way too expensive, so now I attend college for Heating and Air Conditioning. I still occasionally work for the print shop, where I got the 2009 First Generation Calendars printed at last year. Now to the fun stuff; I put on the 2009 Calendar for the first generation guys last year. It was a huge success and everybody loved them. The price was $15. The link to the 2009 Calendar thread is in my signature. So what do you guys think? Is anyone down for a second generation calendar? Thanks, Chris {Mods, please let me know if this thread is okay, thanks} |
I personally would love it. I would love it even more if we got our own second gen members cars in the calender.
|
Thats exactly what it will be; RX7club.com Second Generation Owners Calendar.
If there is enough interest, which I am sure there will be, people can submit their car[s] picture[s] to me, I will host it on my site, with some sort of voting system. Last years 2009 calendar I had a little less than what I wanted, but it was the first time someone pulled through with it. There wasn't a voting system on 2009's simple because I used the highest resolution so it would come out clear. Chris |
Id take one for sure!!
|
I would love one. Is it going to be glossy?
|
sounds good i would get one.
|
sounds like a good idea, but a voting system will mean everyone will just keep voting for thier own car- thats what happens at the car shows around here, people get some kind of satisfaction for not legitimatly winning something but rather rigging the win.
|
@Rob: I still have a while to work on this. I'm beginning to program small things and am in touch with a big programmer currently to help do this. It will track via cookies and IP Address.
@Red: It is 100# Glossy paper. It's nice because once the month is over, you can rip off the top and hang it. |
i would probably get one...as long as there weren't a bunch of riced out/busted fc's on it
|
im sure with the entries you get you could always use some for the following year calender as well.
|
i would be down. . . you should print the top 12 for each month and do like the cover of all the cars sumbmitted so everyone has a little picof their car. win/win. ill submit mine but its not a monster like some others are. broke college kid
|
When it comes time for the actual design (mid october I started last year but I finished mid November to get all submissions), I will be discussing format, layout and cover image.
I want to build another site with car of the month, member, etc and get users very involved. I have yet to do this, but I did start. |
Not just yes, but HELL YEAH!!:ylsuper:
|
I'm in. I will buy one for sure.

And as far as my vote, I'd say hell yes a 2nd gen calendar would be cool, but I would prefer that at least half of the content be of stock looking cars... if it is just a bunch of tuner cars, it might as well be a Honda street tuner mag. |
hell yeah i'm in! i bought a couple of the first gen calenders and they came out great!
|
I would be in, would be friggen wicked! Except I would want 50% of the pics with models posing on top of the cars. :icon_tup:
The ultimate would be pics from this thread, on a calendar. Except it would require a decent amount of work getting the girls's consent and drivers's consent. https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...t=girls+rx7+fc This thread should be stickied to get a high rate of attention. Just in case it gets lifted, subscribed! |
I would be in too. As far as preferences go I think clean FC's would look best.
|
:icon_tup: I'm definitely in
|
I'd get one. As a matter of fact I'm PMing you about availability of the 2009 calendar.
I'd prefer mostly stock looking cars, as I am also not a fan of huge bodykits. Not sure what's in the 2009 calendar, as links seem to be broken, but action shots of driving down the road or autocrossing would be awesome. |
imma guess its gonna be all the same stock looking fcs?
since the general conscious of this forum is towards that lmao |
all stock FCs would be super dull
drifter FCs with crap hanging off them and zip tied bumpers is even worse |
Id say a good mix of tuned and stock cars in the calendar would be pretty awesome.
I say we have an official Voting thread on cars that get to be in the calender...OoOoo id definitely buy. |
just a suggestion it should be with iconic fcs
fcs that are not just forum fanbased, but have some sort of historics or are icons in the tuning scene. http://www.re-amemiya.co.jp/fuurin/pic/mm_fc_fuurin.jpg http://www.streetconcept.com/prodima...ce_front_3.JPG http://i367.photobucket.com/albums/o...ranckFreon.jpg http://ll.speedhunters.com/u/f/eagam...JTP%20copy.jpg http://ll.speedhunters.com/u/f/eagam...278%20copy.jpg http://ll.speedhunters.com/u/f/eagam...iro%20FC/1.jpg http://ll.speedhunters.com/u/f/eagam...w%20FC/sn8.jpg http://img380.imageshack.us/img380/3...ts2z003yr9.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...Shinobi/08.jpg just an idea, of course you would need all new pics, unless you can get permission from those people. Its gotta have exciting cars!!! make it exciting!! |
how about you have to own the car?
just saying I would rather see home town cars then cars that have been all over the internet for years and years that came out of shops |

chris , the 2009 first gen calender I bought was great . I'd buy a second gen one as well for 2010 .... oh and submit my 89 vert as a candidate as well :)
|
I'd hella buy one! Furb's black FC should be in it...that shit is too clean!
|
I'd totally be on board with a calendar. And willing to provide pictures of my '90 GXL and/or take shots of anybody close to Delaware. :icon_tup:

While I understand "iconic", this will not be including those.
This is strictly an RX7Club community calendar. All pictures used will be of members cars. All pictures will be chosen by voters this year. All types of images will be chosen by members and/or contributors. I'm all for having stock / semi modified / major modified in there. MUST include at least one convertible, no doubt. |
oooooooooooo yessss please sir! may i have one :P
|
i really like the idea of this. it would be awesome to have your own car picked to be in it. haha keep us posted....
|
While mine wouldn't be in it ;), I would get one. $15 is nothing! Can't go wrong.

I'd deff. be in. I'll keep an eye out.
|
I'm in... as long as it's Legendary cars with a mix of stock ones.
|
Stock body FCs would be rad, body kits are THE GHEY!!! :gay:
|
im down for a calender...clean cars sounds good along with modded cars and i think one re amemiya car wont kill. and of course a vert must be included :D
|
as long as u can send them down here for me :icon_tup:

I dig it.
|
I would definately be interested. I think a nice blend of stock bodied, track and kitted would be your best bet. Or 3 versions all together .....12 months of trackyness in one calender, stock bodied ok.ness in another, and kits Mcgee for calender numero tres.
You got my 15 dollars when you're ready. john ny |
id love this, i must request one car to be in it, carls blue autocross fc, the one with the 3rd gen bumper, get the photo with it from a frontal view on the track, it looks stunning.
|
|
Rear tires are huge^^^^^ Jesus!!! Yeah......that car definately in.
john ny |
I think this is a great idea!!
I think people should submit photos then everyone can vote on what ones should be in the calendar. Idk just my idea :) |
id be down, as long as there arent any broke ass drift car's, or cars built in poor taste.
i agree with the "iconic FC calander" idea more than forum member car's. i don't think there are 12 forum members cars that id want to look at every day for a month. ericseven's Black GTUs should make the calander. |
wow i thought this thread was lost... so the OP gonna get this thing going?
|
I think it's a good idea. I also agree on having a variety of cars. A couple clean stock bodied cars, some JDM track cars, a few clean street cars, and so on. Maybe a stock body car in January, then they get progressively more modified as the year goes on?
Make sure that green FC with the Foresight kit and TE37s makes it in there. |
Alrighty, I will be posting a long, detailed post about this tomorrow (July 21st) as to where to submit pictures and rate them.
We need to get pictures submitted ASAP and get people taking as many pictures as possible during these nice summer months. Thanks for the patience everyone. In order to get these out by Christmas again, they need to be done the last week of November, 2009. Picture submissions due around the first week of november. Thanks! Chris. |
