Mine is this, 96 240sx. Not going crazy with mods or anything right now, just trying to clean it up and perfect it a bit. Was pretty beat up/worn out when I got it.

Done a ton of preventative maintenance on it, new brakes, j-spec wing, and just picked up a pair of SSR integrals for it. Other than that, stance coilovers, HKS exhaust, and a few other small things. Keeping it all oem under the hood. its great having a car you know is going to start every day:lol:

i just picked up a 96 ford ranger that i'll be using as a daily until i'm done school, but some minor stuff will get put into it. i.e new model tail lamps, ford explorer overhead console, and i need to fix, and paint my tonneau cover, and probably put some nefty thing in the paint.

I figure it's best to screw up a ranger before i mess up my rx7.

driftxsequence 10-31-11 10:32 AM

Here is my new DD to keep the rx7 out of the road salt, and the miles off of it(93000)

1998 Jetta TDI 90hp/145ft/lb stock

this has over 250,000 miles with a dead speedo/odometer so it probably has more miles than that. Needs a new suspension since it has some blown shocks. I plan on dropping it, opening up the exhaust, maybe spicing up the wheels and trying to get more power out of the little 1.9 diesel.

Its funny, I own two cars at the opposite ends of the spectrum. One has no torque, the other only HAS torque!

This car is so fun to drive. My girlfriend even likes it becaus she is learning to drive stick on it and she doesnt even have to hit the gas to get it to go. She just lets the clutch out and the car gets going! that and I have "cruise control" going through the neighborhoods. I put it in forth gear and just let the car drive itself. haha

Don't bother dropping a dime into a ford. My family has had plenty of rangers and f150's and they all rot out very easily here up north. The ranger I'm driving right now is an 01 with a short in an 02 wire somewhere in the harness tossing a cel, frame rotted twice and has been plated, shocks rotted and blown, shacked replaced every other year, one time it busted through the bed, welds on exhaust and hangers rotted (seriously, the welds around the flanges rotted)... On a good note the smaller ranger engines lasts forever without changing the oil. Just drive it and work on the seven is my suggestion.

More projects than I can handle...almost!!

I have a 1997 Ford (zero rust) F-350 swapping in 1997 Cummins 12V and 2006 Ford ZF6 diesel transmission. They did whatever to the fuel plate and it should be around 375rwhp and 725 tq. That will be fine until I find I need more. I probably won't. Should be done in about 2 weeks.. I have been saying that for three months but really, really this time.
Lots of other stuff will get done as in suspension, winch, lockers and such but I am starting to build a house (biggest project of them all) and I need my truck. Not a toy sitting on the rack.
By the way, I am getting different wheels for these tires. The stock wheels are too small for these tires. I put some smaller BFG T/A All Terrain on the stocker wheels. The tires came with it. They are metric BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 around 36". They are freakin sweet!!

http://i419.photobucket.com/albums/p...331_105422.jpg

Now on to the 1987 Toyota 4Runner. I am putting in a 1994 Lexus LS400 4.0 V8. Four liters of all aluminum quad cam 32V V8. I would do a LSX but it won't fit without major firewall and trans tunnel work. It will stay all Toyota.

The problem is that I took it apart and now I am starting to dig footings on my house in about two weeks or so and I don't have the money or time for this right now. I wish I had not taken it apart and I could be driving it. It was a low mileage California desert, rust free, woman driven 4Runner. Although it was a 4 cylinder it did run great. Now it is a bunch of crap laying across two cities. It will get finished just not this year or probably next.

I already have two donor Lexi, all Total Chaos Long Travel front end, Fox coilovers in front, Fox rear, Toyota Fiberglass out of Canada for front and rear high clearance fenders... It will be a full on DD driver and off road toy with custom everything basically from front bumper to interior to rear full floater discs. I almost wish I hadn't started but it will get done someday!!

Plus, just cause I am seeing it in my Photobucket, what not to do with a chainsaw. I am one super lucky M.F.er. I usually wear my kevlar chaps but wasn't and almost lost my knee. I barely scraped the patela. Three months later I am totally fine just a hell of a scar.

This is a tip from a much wiser 48 year old. Always were protection using a chainsaw. They are hungry and don't give a damn what they eat.

Respect the beast!!
