22MPG AVERAGE.( it was 332 miles for 14.98 gallons.) 10TH AE, 440cc injectors( misstakenly) not going over 3700 rpm, 8 psi of boost.

My original injectors were stolen/swapped out at the shop i was working at.. but no harm done, there back to stock 550s now, and 630 miles on a new motor. so far seeing about 19 mpg average.. for 170k mile housings and rotors with new apex seals... lmao.

87 TII, S5 rebuild and turbo, stock injectors, microtech, walbro, 550's, 10psi, I see about 17 city, 22 highway. I could probably net more if I drafted behind large trucks, and ran 205 width tires instead of the 255's.

Cheezits christ, i commute about 50 miles one way, carpool all the way in my s5 na and only get about 19 mpg. 3k shifting, 3500 in 5th cruising, car's in excellent running order (knock wood)........how do you guys get these numbers? I'd kill for 23 mpg.

Then again, I commute to San Francisco so half my commute is up hill. I guess 19mpg ain't too shabby.

I work in litres per 100ks. I have a 40 litre tank. If i drive nicely I can get just over 250km. 40/250*100 = 16L/100kms :(. 1L/100kms = 235.2 miles per gallon. So 235.2mpg/16 = 14.7:( :( :( :( mpg for those of you who still use a completely ridiculous way of measuring things :icon_no2:

Thats if I drive nice 3k shifts and 3.5k revs in 5th and im lucky.

This is a silly thread methinks... If you want fuel economy buy a corrolla or better yet buy a prius :icon_tdow. If you want to scream do the motorway past some douchebag in his WRX/EVO then buy a rotory:icon_tup:.

Oh and that purely highway/motorway driving. I try to avoid the city/traffic like AIDS, fuel just poors out the exh and my clutch leg hurts sooooooo bad. Also someone said on boost they get worse fuel economy... I get better not by much but if i sit just on boost (3.5-4.0k) then it runs alot smoother and the air/fuel ratio evens out so that I'm getting more for my fuel as opposed to letting it all out the exh...

Yea im calling bs on the 30mpg as well, I had about 22mpg avg with a stock s5 na and now get 18mpg with a stock T2

I get about 22 average per tank with my stock S4 base model. This is with me not trying for good mileage, just driving and not caring. One time I tried really hard to drive for the best mileage possible and I average 25mpg. This is mixed driving and I do get about 27 on the interstate.

i get 20 mpg city driving.

I got 19mpg on the way back up from SS12. Surprised the hell out of me. That was all highway btw.

Old thread but I have some noteworthy data. Decided to keep my S4 vert and moved it from SD up to Fairbanks. Stock motor, RB header, pre-silencer, no EGR. As much CC as I could manage in mixed top-down and top-up driving. Very little rain. Speed always 65-75, usually in the middle.

I realize now I should have paid more attention to ethanol. I tried to be consistent about the driving but ended up with some wild variation in my mpg (14 mpg). The most city driving on the entire trip was traversing Spokane at rush hour.

Results: 26 mpg over 3827 miles

I'll say about 8 to 10 mpg. All depends what speed i drive and how many times i step on it. Every time i fill up the tank is about 10 to 11 gallons, and i just drive my car from home to work. Is about 19 mil each way, and every 3 days i have to put gas again. Running on regular gas 93, street port, denso 300 fuel pump, fuel line and 4 1600cc injectors. MICROTECH, with a 70 turbo.

15mpg for me, mostly street driven, BNR turbo with 750/1000cc injectors with an Rtek

Currently GasCubby is reporting:
Average: 20.48
Max: 24.23 << Mixed city and freeway driving [70%/30% hwy/city] Freeway with the windows down I believe..
Min: 17.09 << This tank was ALL: cold start, drive 3 city miles in 30°F~40°F, shut off for 3hrs, drive back with 45~55°F...

This is on an S4 NA, FULL RB exhaust, no EGR, no ACV, airpump activated 5th/6th ports, SAFCII with a -7% correction for all cruising, S5 rotors, S4 NA stock port plates, S6 housings, Atkins apex seals, manual steering, no AC, no sunroof, truck scale claims the car is 2550LBs without passengers [I weigh ~120LBs]
Compression:
Front: 106/102/100@248 RPMs
Rear: 99/110/110@248 RPMs

Best i averaged was 23 mpg. 370 miles on one tank all highway. Went up to Sheboygan and back last saturday. S5 NA with a K&N drop in filter and new NGK wires.

I average around 20 mpg combined. Not too bad I'd say.

*Forgot my K&N style cone filter with the stock snorkel in place but otherwise a hot air intake..

Switching to K&N drop in soon..

Same for me, my commute is 75% freeway but I drive 75-85 most of the time, I seldom shift below 4k rpms.

My 2003 Silverado with 5.3 V8 gets 15 mpg and my 2002 Q45 also gets 15 mpg...maybe its me:dunno:.

Wouldn't be so bad if you had the cone in a sealed area with some ventilation to it. I often think of a way to vent air from the FTP cut out to the intake area. Problem is the stock flip ups. But that is a whole different thread haha.

I would consider routing air from somewhere else cool, but I hate making any permanent modifications.. :/ [and I'd never do the headlight cover/FTP removal because of appearances..]
At least the snorkel is in place to give it a little bit..

Also, I'm highly doubtful of any benefits to my NA from the cone filter.. Other than the swooshy noise! XD

16-17mpg with my 88 TII running on 10 psi at the moment when i'm driving normally which means 50-165mph without watching for fuel economy.:p:

If you listen close enough you can hear the swooshy noise from the drop in filter too hahaha. Louder if you have the top of the box off :icon_tup:
