What is recommended to clean the engine and engine bay without disturbing the electrical system and other fragile parts? Also, I’d like to paint some of the interior parts such as the door handles and vents. Any recommendations?

 

I'm in the process of cleaning my engine bay as well. Simple Green and a brush work great. You're gonna go through a ton of towels.

Just common sense really and trying your best to be careful.
